Cheat codes not working for heroes PC??

I wasn't sure where to post this (sorry if it's the wrong section).
I'm trying to use the cheat codes for Heroes of Might and Magic 3 for the Armageddon campain (I'm stuck). I'm supposed to hit TAB and enter the code and then hit enter. But it doesn't do anything! Why?? Do I need to install something in order for the codes to work? Is there something else I'm supposed to do? Thanks

The problem is that these are the cheats I've found on every single webpage. They can't all be wrong???? Could it be my game that's messed up?

okay,try this,read or write down the cheat code,do it one step at a time,if it doesnt work,you should email the website saying so,or try to do everything carefully.

There are also many versions of 90% of all PC games.

If you have the European version then it's probably version problems.

Most game codes work for teh NTSC version in US, not PAL in Europe. That means different codes.

No cheat codes in european 'Complete' version either. Anyone tried the US 'Complete' version with success? (cheating of course).

OT:
I hate the idea that european versions differ, but I guess thats leftovers from the PAL vs NTSC C64/Amiga days. (my monitor doesnt care it can't show PAL nor NTSC and my TV shows both and DVD is also regionfree).
WoW is also only playable for betas if they get an american version. We are stuck in the 5 regions. Thank god for fileshares.
