I just purchased a playstation 2.
Anyone know of some great role playing games..??
Some of my old favorites were
Metroid (nintendo)
Zelda (nintendo)
Final Fantasy (playstation)
Anything similar to those would be great..!
Final Fantasy x is already on my list.

um I dont have a ps2 but I do know you can play ps1 games on ps2 :stoned:

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance
It's one of the best RPG's on the PS2

i dunno alot about role playing games, but i know that if u really want cool games on
ps2 : jack 'n daxter, FFX, Fatal frame
game cube: mario sunshine, zelda "but it looks a lil like a cartoon",
starfox
ps1: any game of square softs games is a good one
oh yeah and i gota qestion: i tried to play a ps1 game on the ps2 it didnt work, how do u get them to work??

Well, i now own Dark Cloud. It's a pretty good game. It has sweet graphics and there's this "dual" style mode sometimes. To bad there's not more of it in the game....
BUT, don't get it if you're ADD!!! Becuase you do in the same exact dungeon like 20-100 times before you move on to the next village! It get's really annoying, repeitive, and BORING! Besides that, it's a great game. Music's not all that.... there's only one song i like on it, and that's the opening song when it shows the demos....

Theres a Baldurs Gate game for PS2? i never knew that... is it any good? Better than FFX?

It's very cool
i think it's better then FFX
but that's cauz i like Baldur's Gate
but i think the baldur's Gate on the pc is much better
Especcially Baldur's Gate II

theres summoner and summoner 2, but i found them boring.

hmmmmm, im not sure what other rpg's there are on ps2.

I think some of the great shoot 'em ups can be classed as role play e.g. red faction 2, deus ex, deus ex 2 they are wonderful games look into them if u get the chance

Just to tell you, Metroid isnt an RPG, it is classed as Action/Adventure i am not sure which one...

Zelda is Adventure

Final Fantasy you are right is RPG

Here is a list of some good RPGs:

Shadow Hearts
Kingdom Hearts
Heroes of Might and Magic
Dot
Xenosaga
FFX2 (Coming Soon)
FF11 (Japanese only though)

There are some more but I can't think of them right now. Sorry:( RE3 is not and RPG, it is Survival Horror, and Metroid Prime is a shooter and it is for the Gamecube.

FFX and FFIX are pretty good, but the best are FFVI & VIII for PS1. To get a PS1 game to work in PS2. you just pust the disc in and hit reset. Some games will not work because PS2 enhances there graphics too much and it will freeze.
