Some new details have been revealed regarding Final Fantasy X-2. The third character is officially named Paine, an 18 year old female who is a member of Rikku's Seagull sphere hunting team. She is a quiet person who never discusses her true feelings with anyone.
The Active Time Battle system will be enhanced in Final Fantasy X-2. Depending on the actions a character takes, only a portion of the ATB gauge will decrease. Actions such as using an item will only decrease it by half, while defending will take a minuscule third of the gauge, allowing it to fill much faster.
When a character uses a Dress Sphere during a battle sequence, he or she will be able to change clothing and jobs. There will be a short transformation scene showing the character take on the new appearance.
It was also recently revealed that the game will include two theme songs. They are titled Real Emotion and 1000 Words, and both will be performed by Koda Kumi.
Final Fantasy X-2 will be released in Japan in March 2003, with a North American release likely to follow within the next year.
