They're not totally dead. Like other people said, they're knocked out, swooned, fainted, like that. Remember in real life you can "revive" someone with smelling salts...or Vivarin, for that matter!

Revive can mean a lot of things, to me it means rejuvinate, bring back to health, stuff like that. I dont think anything can bring back something thats completely dead, even in a game.
