Racing Games

Hi everyone!

I'm interested in buying a PS2. I mostly play racing games and from what I heard and found surfing on the net, I got the feeling tha ps2 has more and better racing games.
- Does anybody know if Gran Turismo 3 has gone "platinum" (you know, better price :)
- How much do you expect for ps2 to have new games. I always had a pc and upgrading was a pain-in-the-ass. I'm surprised to see that there still new games for PSone!!! Do the new games for ps2 have good FPS (are they running smooth ?)
- Finally, considering that I like rtacing games and soccer games, do you believe I made the right choice ? ( ps2 vs x-box)

Some really good Shooters on PS2

I only know of a coupel FPS...

Half-Life (Personally.. It sucked lol)
Red Faction II (Pretty good, but a little Fake at times...)
Time Splitters 2 (Great, but still pretty fake at time)

The nagain, i'm not a FPS Fan much anymroe, i like 3RD Person now, like MGS2, and SOCOM

Soccer games? FIFA 2003 and Winning Elevel 6 are for you!

Personally, i like FIFA more, but thats because i am a EA Sports Fan:).

Actually, I'm only interested in Rally and Soccer games. I hear that there are plenty of themQ
-GT3 - A Spec
- Burnout 2
- Midnight Race 2
- Evolution Pro Soccer

FPS... I prefer to play them on my PC. I like the mouse+keyboard style. Other than that, I use my pc for applications.

The question is, will the PS2 last for at least 1 year ??
