I should point out to all members that: Kazaa is illegal,

and the mods, security and admin, and all, do not support the use of illegal programs, but it you use them, its your problem.

I would also like to point out that they ruin your computer

I saw that too theyr gonna sue people that use it. it sucks a ton!!!

they already ssued a few people and most were kids!
I downloaded my music from my friend but he deleted kazza too. i think you all better do the same or get sued for thousands.

SSJVegeta
06-27-2003, 07:41 PM
there's nothing they can really do about it. Even if they shut down kazaa, people like hackers will always share music programs and other media. I don't have either of the programs installed, but I'm taking their side. the record companies make way too much!

I agree with you the record companies do make way too much money.

do they honestly think they can sue people. Think there gonna waste there time to trace every sdingle person that uses Kazaa and sue them lol. Thats a bunch of bull****. Tehe "FBI" would be wasting there money to do that.

@Seto so for every file they get sued 250 000 350 000? or just 350 or 3500. They'll never cath everyone

@Poppa Maybe millions :D

Count yourselves lucky !!
If a certain US senator got his way you would be running scared as he wants to be able to DESTROY any data (not just offending material) that filesharers have.

The FBI's gonna sue them for it? That is crap...

Anubis
06-28-2003, 03:48 PM
yes it is crap but the problem here is they started sueing about a month ago in the US!!!! and they had a huge interview with one person from the music company and he said that he will keep sueing untill people stop downloading music and than they`ll shut kazza and winmix down!!!!!!

All I can say is that the file sharing scene wont go away. They said that it would go once they closed down napster and that didnt happen.

Fact. Those programs have cracked written all over them. It makes it way easier for crackers to install ads into your computer.

@ SSJ: Hundreds of millions.

They can only be dangerous if you dont take care with your downloads etc which 98% of users dont. overall you just have to be careful.

Off the top of my head:

KaZaA, Morpheus, Grokster, WinMX, Limewire, Bearshare, FileShare (Sumthin like that), eMule, eDonkey?...

Ok, shut them down if you wish, but they can't touch mIRC or it's users.

Heres a little thingy u can see sometimes on the servers

If you are affiliated with any government anti-piracy group or were formerly a worker of one you cannot enter this channel. You furthermore cannot access any of its file servers. If you enter the file servers you are not agreeing to these terms and you are violating ::code 431.322.12 of the Internet Privacy Act signed by Bill Clinton in 1995 - Please Leave Or You Will Be Violating These Terms.

So... How do the FBI know that u didn't borrow a CD fro ma friend and burn it to your comp? This is utter stupidity.

same Stryker

do u know that they can't really shutdown the fileshare servers, like Kazza and that because they aren't doing anything illegal they are the hub and the other users use it to connect and send to each other. the data isn't coming from kazza's server so technically they aren't filesharing the people are so u would have to shutdown every single user filesharing

Stryker82
06-30-2003, 05:39 PM
Yup, that's where NApster went wrong, cuz they promoted the sharing of Songs an stuff, asically copyrighted stuff in general, so they got shut down. These P2P Progs now say Do Not Share copyrighted material, but everyone klnows thats all that happens pretty much...

And uh, the FBI only has Jurisdiction in the U.S.A, the ycant do a thing t oanyone outside the U.S... Am I right?

Half-White
06-30-2003, 08:30 PM
Yes, you are right. So, anyone here with Kazaa or whatever and is outside the US, don't worry about this...

The U.S. has it's connections with other countries. And, where in the world is Kazaa's hub located? You get rid of Kazaa, and there goes its users...

Kazaa doesnt have a central server. What you have is multiple hubs created by the users when they use the client. That is at least How I personally understand the protocol.

yes and file sharing is person to person, a bit like i f I was to send u a file through MSN

which means kazza is 100% legit, as long as they tell u not to fileshare copyrighted material then they're not breaking any rules
