Problem with XP?
I'm not sure if this is the right place for this. I'm having problems installing games on my computer. Has anybody else had this problem? My kids gave me for Christmas a 6 pack of computer games. (What it is is a box with 6 different games. They have fantasy, classic, casino, etc.) Anyway, only one would install. Can anybody help me?

It may be, that you could be:
Out Of memory (So go to your system and allow more memory) You may not have enough RAM or ROM available. Your Software resteration may not be working. (try going to: Direct X and dnwoload the latest version) If none of those are the answer, then im stuck. ![]() |

I'll look into that.
This is what would happen: It would lock up the computer and set it in a loop to where it would do nothing, wouldn't respond to anything. This would happen in autorun. Before I tried to install it, I went to check the compatibility and it would show that I would have something 5.1(can't remember what) It showed that there was no Windows anything, even though I have XP. |

i had the loop effect when i was installing worms 3d, but the way i overcome it was instaling an updated version of directx
also do the games, say compatible with xp, sometimes they are only designed for 98 for example and so don't run try downloading an updated direct x, i think 7.1 is the newest or something like that, if not reply back here. |

The most likely option is the fact that the games are DOS based and therfor wont run because XP doesnt have DOS as such

All you need to do is: Go to start menu>My Computer>D or E Drive>Select the installer file (.exe) and the it should run. ![]() |

Just thought you might need to know, this is my computer
2.4GHz P4 60GB harddrive 3D Intel Extreme Graphics AGP 56K 256MB DDR RAM WINXP DirectX9.0 My husband tried to install one on our daughter's computer and it installed and runs with very little problem (so far). Her's is a 600MHz P3, 20GB HD, 3D Graphics Card (can't remember make), 64MB RAM (not DDR), WIN98 SE. My computer meets the recommended requirements and our daughter's barely does. What gives? LOL Oh, and the games say they are combatible for XP |

ok. i really don't get it then.
the only thing i can think of then is that it has to do with the graphics card...... |

Would the graphics card (which I know nothing about) cause the games not to install at all?
