Deck Advice

If anyone needs any deck advice or would like me to construct them a deck, I'd be happy to do so. I'm ranked number one in the store where I compete, so I'm an experienced duelist.

Here is the current deck I run:

Electric Snake
Painful Choice
Card Destruction
Heavy Storm

I have had great success with this deck. If you have any questions as to why I have included a certain card in the deck or why I haven't included a card ask me.

When asking me to construct a deck let me know what kind of budget you are working with, cards can be expensive.

I'll also rate decks as well.

Waboku is still extremely underrated by most duelists. It protects you for one turn, no questions asked. If it gets Stormed, Dustered, or Typhooned, you still get the effect. Sinister Serpent is also a very good card. He can be used in conjunction with Graceful Charity and Tribe-Infecting Virus. He can also chump block if necessary. He helps prevent the dreaded Yata-Lock and he can draw out monster removal from your opponent.

Book of Moon is a nice card, but I have found it hard to put in my deck so I left it out.

As for your deck, I'm not a big fan of equip magic cards. They can deplete your hand very fast just to run into a Magic Cylinder, Waboku, Mirror Force, etc. And even if you do get through, you wasted your whole hand to boost the attack of one monster. I can easily remove the monster from the field along with the equips and that made the job my deck seeks much easier, deplete your hand and Yata-Lock you. I would recommend losing all but maybe one of your equipment cards. You are also missing some key cards. I'm going to assume this is a beatdown deck. Here's a list of cards you might want to include in the maindeck:

Graceful Charity
Breaker the Magical Warrior
Tribe-Infecting Virus
D.D. Warrior Lady
Cannon Soldier
Fiber Jar
Morphing Jar (this one might be difficult to get, but trust me it's worth it )
Sinister Serpent
Dark Ruler Hades
Injection Fairy Lily
Heavy Storm
Snatch Steal
Mirror Force
Torrential Tribute
Scapegoat
3rd Mystical Space Typhoon
Nobleman of Crossout
Fissure

That should point you in the right direction. Try to keep the number of monsters that switch to def mode to a minimum. They give up field control too easily. I play one Spear Dragon and One Goblin Attack Force in my beatdown deck. Some more stable 1900 ATK monsters are useful (Archfiend Soldier, Gemini Elf, Luster Dragon #2)

Judging by your deck, you are an expirienced duelist, though i do not get as to why yuo owuld want to run a scientist, in a hand D aspect deck. Though the only use i personally see for a scientist is ot build a whole deck around him, in wich to make it a first turn first kill deck.

Magical Scientist is actually better outside of the one-turn kill deck esp. since he's restricted to one now. He is used to take control of the field. Thousand-Eyes Restrict can absorb monsters and I can let them die at the end of the turn when TER returns to the Fusion deck. Dark Balter can take care of effect monsters and Ryu Senshi covers Trap Cards. Dark Flare Knight can also run over stronger monsters too. I pay maybe 2000 - 3000 LP to clear the field of problem monsters. I can then back the vulnerable Scientist with a protection card.

Legato:

It looks like you are just missing some basic cards. I hate to say is but a bunch of strong monsters isn't going to help you win often. It helps to have monsters that have some good effects. You have some, but you want to have most if not all of your monsters be effect monsters.

Here's a list of cards that I feel belong in almost any deck:

Jinzo
Some solid 1900 ATK monsters (Gemini Elf, Archfiend Soldier, Luster Dragon #1, Mad Dog of Darkness, Slate Warrior)
Breaker the Magical Warrior
Witch of the Black Forest
Sangan
Cyber Jar*
Fiber Jar
Sinister Serpent
Some monsters that have monster removal built in (Tribe-Infecting Virus, D.D. Warrior Lady, Exiled Force) These can help if your opponent is making it difficult for you to use Spell cards to destroy their monsters

Pot of Greed*
Graceful Charity
Raigeki
Harpie's Feather Duster
Dark Hole
Heavy Storm
Monster Reborn*
Premature Burial
Change of Heart*
Snatch Steal
Mystical Space Typhoon - 3 1*
Swords of Revealing Light*

This is a list of Spells that go in virutally every deck. Here are some other very good spells that can go in a lot of decks:

Scapegoat
Tribute to the Doomed*
Fissure
Nobleman of Crossout
Delinquent Duo
The Forceful Sentry
Confiscation
Card Destruction
Painful Choice
Book of Moon

Imperial Order
Ring of Destruction
Call Of The Haunted
Torrential Tribute
Mirror Force
Waboku

These are the best Trap Cards in the game they should definitely be included in almost every deck you make, but they are difficult to find. Here are some other very good Trap cards:

Magic Jammer
Magic Drain
Solemn Judgment
Ceasefire
Trap Hole*
Magic Cylinder

These can go in a variety of decks as well.

Rather than going out and buying all of these cards or trading for them, the best thing you can do is first decide what type of deck you want to build. I'll even build you one if you want and you can use that decklist as a template for your own or use it. I can also tell you the easiest ways to get some of these cards too.

Hope that helps, if you have any questions, please ask.

*These cards are already in your deck, I just included them for the benefit of others reading this.
