[PS7] Faded/Beveled Grids

Tutorial: Creating Faded/Beveled grids background
Author: Anubis
With extra credit to: -
Necessary tools: Photoshop 7.0
Steps:
Difficulty: Easy

1. Open a new image, I used 600x600, anything will do, now go Filter=>Render=>clouds.

2. Go Select=>Color Range than choose a spot with the most mass (area) but not the whole picture, click okay.

3. Now, you must delete everything But the selected area you just selected, so hit Ctrl+Shift+Alt+I than hit Delete you can now Deselect, create a new layer and move it under the layer you are going to make the grid, fill that with black.

4. Now, follow closely, Go Filter=>Render=>Extrude, use these settings.

5. Go Filter=>Pixelate=>Mosaic and put the size to about 18.

6. Now go Filter=>Stylize=>Find Edges

7. Now go Filter=>Brush Strokes=Dark Strokes and use these settings:

8. finally you can either Invert it and have a grid or follow the below settings.

Finished Product:



For Beveled Grid:

1. Follow Steps 1-7

2. Now, go Filter=>Stylize=>Emboss and use these settings:

For Beveled Blocks:

1. Follow Steps 1-8

2. Go Filter=>Stylize=>Emboss and use the settings above.

I Gaussian Blurred the grid after step 8, and got a nice effect, didnt save it though, heh

i got photoshop the other day when i downloaded it and i suck at makeing things... i just play around and make things... :banana1:
