preview-mortal kombat deception
mortal kombat deception is the sixth major installment to the series. here is a little bit i wrote about it.
In summary of the events of E3 as well as the videos below: • The speed of Kombat is noticeably quicker than in MK:DA. However, specials still have the same amount of stall time after you execute them. This modification to game-play will cause gamers to think twice about using their special, as it can open them up for a powerful combo. • Most people are aware of the lights and flashes that will now appear, showing you when you are vulnerable to an attack, when you can execute a reversal, etc. However, what some people don’t know is that this feature can be toggled on or off. If you prefer to not be distracted by these lights, then you do not need to utilize this feature. • Recently, Ed Boon has conducted a few video interviews. One hot topic discussed was that, aside from the characters in the character select screen that you can unlock, there will be hidden kharacters in Konquest Mode that can be unlocked as well. What would an MK game be without hidden characters? • Puzzle Kombat will be similar to Tetris, but will also have extra features such as MK koins that drop that will automatically demolish the set of blocks that it lands on. Unlike it’s Capcom counterparts, Puzzle Kombat will showcase blood and deformed fatalities such as dropping an anvil on your opponent’s body. • Konquest Mode will feature a character with the starting name of Sujinko, which can be changed once you finish Konquest Mode to something different. By the end of your training, you will get to select three different fighting styles out of all fighting styles offered in Mortal Kombat: Deception. The graphics so far in Konquest are decent, but aren’t great, which is understandable seeing as how it’s not the primary game in Konquest. An example of a mission that you may encounter in Konquest is getting meat for a guard so that you can pass through a certain path. Others are more simple, such as learning the basics of the game from dojo to dojo under Bo Rai Cho’s guidance. Konquest is time-based, meaning you will only be able to encounter certain kharacters at certain times in order to learn special abilities, unlock further storyline, and potentially unlock hidden kharacters as well. Konquest is an extremely in-depth game, and the only thing holding it back so far from being a game that you could purchase on its own is its graphics, which may or may not be further improved on over the summer, leading to MK:D’s October release. • Our E3 sources have stated that suicides are similar for all characters. This comes as unfortunate news, but also may be temporary until the final release date, just as stand-in art is used just for the sake of being able to show off a feature before the real art is ready. • Stage Weapons will be considerably different than in previous Mortal Kombats. They will pack a powerful punch ( moreso than standard weapons ), but will also be located by deathtraps. In order to gain the upper-hand by trying to attain one of these weapons, one also risks getting knocked into a trap. You cannot switch styles whilst using these weapons, as it will automatically drop when you change to a fighting stance. • As is evident in the video footage, considerably greater detail has been paid to the fatalities. Rather than a bunch of little balls representing the body ( such as seen in MK:DA ) when it is destroyed, organs are intact as is the skeletal structure of your opponent. This helps to convey the more gruesome fatality effect that we had all come to know and love in Mortal Kombat II. • The famous Mortal Kombat Uppercut HAS returned. http://www.gametrailers.com/gt_vault..._fatality.html http://www.gametrailers.com/gt_vault...bat_dc_gp.html http://www.gametrailers.com/gt_vault...dc_puzzle.html http://www.gametrailers.com/gt_vault..._dc_chess.html http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/action/...ion/media.html |
