N64 Problems

It's me again-the person with all the problems. Well my N64 freezes at random intervals I just bought a used Majoras Mask and a used expansion pack. I also bought DK64. DK64 freezes, as does Majoras Mask. Other games (non expansion pack) work fine. The games freezes at random spots, I can't even get to the save point (1 hour into majoras mask) I got within a few minutes of it and I get a black screen with a little red line at the top. I'm assuming it's the expansion pack. But I don't want to buy a new one for the simple fact that they are $30!!! more than any game out there for 64...ridiculous...any way, do you all think it's probably the expansion pack? Anything I can do or am I just screwed?

More than likely it is the expansion pack since you stated that the games that don't require it aren't giving you any problems. I'd buy another one if I were you, since they won't accept refunds for used items. Actually, where did you buy it from? They should have a guarantee, because they can't sell things that are defective.

nope, when you buy it used it's yours and theres nothing they can do, if you take it back you only get $3 or so...oh well...I just won't play. Makes me mad though that was $30 for all the games and the pack

yeah mine freezes too but i dont know how to fix it

Try cleaning the console. Scrub the slot that you put the cartridges in too!

Its most likely the expansion pack.......I have plenty of them, the only problems I have with them are the HUGE black ones that are so big they go outside the N64. I went over my friends & brought my Majoras Mask game I relized I forgot an expansion pack so my mom brought one.....it was the BIG black one, it froze in under 5 minutes every time I used it/I also tryed it at home....it still froze so I cleaned it, didn't work. The only time it work is with games that don't need expansion packs.....so I think you need a new one, try Gamers/Ebay/ect they should not cost $30 anymore, it should be less.
