What Makes A Gamer?

Well do you think you're a gamer? One of the best at what you play. There are all sorts. There are people that can kick anyones behind on FIFA but stick the controller in there hands and play an RPG and they struggle to get through the pratice stage.

I mean i believe when it comes down to SSX i'm unbeatable on it...no one i have played against as even gave me a challenege on the game. Grand Theft Auto and Kingdom Hearts .etc RPGs i find them easy and complete them quiet happily without much of a problem. I find sport games pretty borin so i don't play them much and so when faced with one i am in a word...crap.

So what makes a gamer? The ability to kick the rear end of opponents when you play against others or someone that can handle all types of genres. Or maybe its just a case of the amount of knowledge you have on gaming as a whole...
Do you reckon that you're a gamer?

I'm just curious of what people think.

i thnk a gamer is someone who can ajust and do their best in all genres of games,i concider myself a gamer cause im good at mostly all types of geners...i whoop anyone in espn nfl 2k5,but i get whooped and put on on the corner in games like bloody roar,street fighter.thers what i think dayle

Iam the best pokemon player here! Though i havent played any of the new ones. I dont play like 24-7 but i still play though i wouldnt consider my self a gamer. But my friends say iam the best like i beat my games in a week. So just dont challenge me at pokemon.

i am an all around gamer. Just dont challenge my brother at a fighting game. He'll kick your (what? oh i'm not gonna say that word.)

im the best at racing games...esecially gt3 and all driving games....but i get ma ass kicked in tekken games....

hmm what makes a gamer, well there are no wrong or right answers.
Anyway i think it's more to do with:

1. how long you have been gaming for, I started out with a Sega Megadrive which was also a Windows 3.1 PC (if you can call it a PC) I also played on an Amegia as well.

2. How much knowledge you have on gaming as a whole and how good you are on a perticular game and not the type.

I think I am good at all racing games but I am not good at all with F1 games. I dunno maybe it's because I dont like F1 but challenge me to GT3 or SSX 3 then I can give anyone a good challenege, same with Fighting games.

First system? Super Nintendo. How lon i've been playen for....7 years. I'm preety good at Platform (like Mario Party games), I'm great at Adventure and Action games, kinda alright at Rpg's., kinda sucky at racing games, I really really suck at all the fighting games except 1.....Super Smash Brothers Melee. I think a gamer needs to be preety good at most types of games.

a gamer can be 2 things : casual or hardcore. Casuals think hardcore are geeks and hardcores think casuals are pathetic!

I can kick ass on FPS games...Unreal Tournament, Quake, Counter-Strike etc. When I play these, I rule all.

The definition of the term 'Gamer' is a simple one. A gamer is someone who just plays video games regularly. Simple. We are all gamers as we all play games regularly. If we didn't, then it's likely that we wouldn't have joined C/D.

A gamer is exactly what you said dayle, somone who pwns in one genre but sucks in anohther, no one is THAT good that they can actually pwn in all games

For me...its FTPs and RPGs, like Final Fantasy, and I absolutely Pawn in Crashing/Racing Games: Burnout 3 XD

A gamer is simply someone that plays games, should they be hardcore gamers who will play non stop unless at school or work (sometimes wont even stop there ) or casual gamers who play now and then. You dont have to be good in any genre's to be a gamer, just as long as you enjoys games.
