battlefield 1942

is this game a first person shooter game, i want to get it, but only if it's first person. any help? and no spawn point's thanks

Yes, Battlefield 1942 is a FIRST PERSON SHOOTER. You can also change the camera view ingame so you can play from any view. The "chase Cam" is nice after you bomb something so you can watch your target explode, but the DEFAULT view is that of FIRST PERSON.

If you are thinking about getting it, then I would advise you to get the:

"Battlefield 1942 World War II Anthology"

It comes with:
BF42
Road To Rome (1st. Expansion)
Secret Weapons (2nd. Expansion)

You can get it at pretty much any store that sells computer games for around $30.

After you get it, there are SEVERAL different mods for the game that I STRONGLY advise you to take a look at.

Such as:
Desert Combat - Modern Combat, with modern weapons, planes & vehicles.
Galactic Conquest - Star Wars theme.
Forgotten Hope - AWESOME MOD for BF42, makes the game more realistic & fun
Battlefield Pirates - Be a pirate, Ahoy Matey!!
BattleGroup 42 - Another AWESOME MOD for BF42

These are just a few. So if you buy BF42, with these mods, it's like your almost getting a new game.

dude you forgot Battlefield Vietnam, its almost like desert combat but but better. like you can hower on choper without pressing up key

You are correct. Battlefield: Vietnam is sweet & it has an updated graphics engine for *Extra* eye candy. There is also an official WW2 mod for BF:V that takes some of the maps from reg BF42 & converts them to the BF:V engine. Talk about WOW. Too bad ALL the maps wern't converted....

So yeah, get both BF42 & BF:V & you'll be set for a Looooooong time gaming wise. I have been playing BF42 & all the mods & expansions since they first came out, (BF42 in 2002).

As for Mods, I forgot one for regulat BF42, it's "Eve of Destruction" or "EOD" it's a Vietnam based mod that totally kicks butt!

Hmm, if you have a PS2 then Medal of honour would be good, Desert storm I & II, timesplitters I, II, & III (when it comes out) and mabye Americas most wanted (if that is going to come out on PS2). Some of these games may not be first person, but are still extremely good games.

For PC, MOH:AA, MOH:SP, MOH:RS, (me like the series) JK:JA, Star Wars Battle front, BF42, C&C,..... probably a few more games, just read soem reviews and get to know some good game makers...
