Beginner Question

I would like to design my own sigs and avs, but all i have is paint and paint shop pro, i think. is this good enough to make a quality sig, or should i go out and get some specialty program?

another ?: i downloaded a couple fonts. how (and can) do i make windows xp switch to these fonts as standards, and where else can i use them?

MS Paint is rubbish.... Paintshop pro is a lot better but and decent sigs can be made with it but Adobe Photoshop 6,7 or CS is what ya should be using but this costs a lot of money.

Dunno about your 2nd question but I have added font's in the past but can not really remember what I did but I can use them in most things on this PC.

About your second question. You will need to add your new fonts into your font file under windows. The easiest way to do this is through Windows Explorer. Bring it up and locate first the new fonts you downloaded. Be sure if it's a zip file that you unzip it. Then copy the new file and locate Fonts under Windows in the c: drive and add them there. You should be able to see all of your fonts when you click on the Fonts file. As for using them. You can using them creating banners or anything where you can save them as an image file. Using them directly on a webpage is recommended as the only people who would be able to see that font then are those who happen to have it on their computer. By making an image file like a banner or icon then it can be used anywhere. Hope this helps.

alrighty, thank you people. i'll go try to make my own sig instead of trying to mooch off other people's talents...

just remember, never rip others people work and pass it off as your own... you can prosecuted for things like that. Paint shop pro is not as widely used as PS. Though it is ok, most tutorials you find will be on PS.

Hmm no sorry to say 2.0 is not the best in the world anymore and I bet it came free on the PC when you got it.

Ummm...Photoshop Album is a photo organizer. It takes photos from your camera, stores in hard drive, and then it sorts it by date. It can also create things like slideshows, greeting cards, calendars, etc.

It is very much like iPhoto

i use ph7, i might get the update for it and see if it helps any, but one of my teachers has phcs and there really isn't much of a difference. there are a few nice features but for the majority i can live with what i have

Adobe PS seems to be getting better and worse in different aspects. All taht has been happening since 6 is that a few filters and brushes have been added...

now i found an Adobe PhotoDelux Home Edition and only can save the files as .PDD an di cant seem to find anywhere that will upload these files... does ne1 kno where i can upload these?
