Simple Tutorial

I was just playing around with some filters and I found out a fairly cool effect. Well, maybe not that cool, but I think it looks ok. This tutorial does not appeal to more experienced users of Photoshop obviously, as this is quite a simple effect. But I think it looks alright.

Basically, this is how to get a background that looks like there is stuff engraved on a wall.

1. Start a new document. (400x100)

2. Set the foreground colour to 099624. Set the background colour to 010702. Your foreground colour should be a dark green, and your background colour should be black.

3. Go to Filter>Render>Clouds.

4. Go to Filter>Render>Lens Flare. Leave the default settings for the Lens Flare. Position it in the middle, on the far left hand side. It should look like this so far:


5. Final part. Go to Filter>Sketch>Bas Relief. Set the detail to 15, and the smoothness to 1. Leave the light direction on Bottom.

6. And you're done! It should look something like this:


As I said, it's a simple effect, but you can experiment with it and make it look pretty cool.

Tried different colours with it, so far my favourite's green. Meant to be a n00b tut. really as it's a reaaaal basic effect. But I thought it looked alright so...

depends on what you want it to look like

could you try a box, 97x97 px with that effect but with a darker color (maybe a dark purple) and a heartagram or inverted pentergram or pentacle?
alright if you dont want to, just want to see how it would turn out \o/
