kingpin life of crime cd problems

yeah i loaded the thing and when i play the game before it starts it does an error message and it says you need the cd to play the game even though the cd is in there i dont understand can you help me????

Could be a lot of things. I had that happen to me before with brand new games and it turned out the cd rom drive went bad. No amount of cleaning the lens fixed it. It could just be a dirty disc though.
