You need more than a lvl 50+ Charizard. Back him with a strong grass or Elec type. My grass choice is Victreebel and Elec is Raichu.

where do you find the saphirein the islands

After you beat the Elite Four+1 and you get the natinal dex, you go to Mt. Mortar and fight the two team Rockets then go thrugh the tunnel that just opend up then follew the trail to find the saphire.

see if ur charizard can learn thunder, if it can use it against garry's blastoise

hey dude use zapidose teach it thunder shock wave drill peck
and agility
for the rock dude use charizard and teach it dig
for the gost chik use moltrase (found in mount ember)
for lance use articuno it learns blizard at lvl 51
for your rival use zapidoze on his blastoise

I think that you will find it easy if you raise your Charizard to a level exceeding 70. Witha Zapdos and an Articuno on your side, there's a pretty good chance you'll win easily. I did. It should only take one attempt with those three. Another point I should give you is to buy 'plenty' of revives, Max Potions, Full Heals, etc. Then every time you defeat a member of the Elite 4, restore your Pok'emon's health and then save your game.

This means that you can progress to the next member with a fit team and with no risk of losing.

the only way to beat gary is to put that carizard in tough traning to 70 and up. the move set try blast burn, dragon claw, fly, flame thrower. try to get a vinisore 70 and up. ( my little brother let me train vinisore so i use it for elite four.

to get to 4,5,6,and 7 is get the nainal dex then get the safire in mont ember and give it to cleio and he will give you the rainbow pass. not sure about birth lsland.
