Resident Evil games, what to get?

Ok I have never ones baught a Resident evil game and I wanted to get your opinions on which one(s) I should buy.

Resident Evil 1 (PS1)
Resident Evil 2 (PS1)
Resident Evil 3 (PS1)

Resident Evil CODE: Veronica X (PS2)
Resident Evil Survivor 2 Code: Veronica (PS2)
Resident Evil: Dead Aim (PS2)
Resident Evil: Outbreak (PS2)

The PS2 versions I have been looking at reviews it don't sound all that good for any of the games altho Resident Evil CODE: Veronica X sounds ok... but whats the Resident Evil Survivor 2 Code: Veronica game? I carn't seem to find a review for this one.

I also know that Resident evil 4 is out or is coming out on the GameCube and thankfully for me and many other res fans it's being ported over to the PS2 by the end of the year so I'll be getting this for sure as it sounds very very good.

Well, as I told you on MSN mate, I wouldn't get any of the PS2 Resident Evil games...They all suck...I'd get any one of the PS1 Resident Evil games, those are the good ones...In particular, Resident Evil 3. That game rocks...

Thanks for the replies guys.... Well I went a head and bought Resident Evil CODE: Veronica X (PS2) for £8!

Played it for a few hours... then thought oh my god LS was right... it sucked! The pace of the game was slow and the cam angle wasn't that good either at times.

Didn't go back to the shop I got it from so I went to Gamestation and traded it for £5 losing a total of £3 and just swaped it for Metal Gear Solid 2. Not played it yet but I intend to later.

My mate at the shop is gunna see if he can get hold of Resident Evil 3 for me on the PS1. I can pick up resident evil outbreak for the PS2 for £15. Is the cam and player character speed any better in this one??

Still lookin at reviews for resident evil outbreak and it's not lookin 2 good so far.

Anyway I came accross Silent Hill 4 The Room today.. again never played the others so some feedback on these games would be nice as well. Heard it's ok but it's all a mix bag of views...

i played them all but i would say not to buy dead aim or survivor cause i think they r a little corny... but i would buy 1 2 3 and 4 , i think 4 is the best. the outbreaks are cool but if u dont have online play they can get boring.

meh oh well... old thread but I'll let it go. As for Res 4 yes.. played it and was rather impressed. Think I'll be buying the PS2 version when it comes out.
