3.5gHZ?! Damn...That's more powerful than the PC I've got now...But did you get this information from a reliable source? I don't believe Microsoft themselves have actually disclosed any official information on it, including the system specs. Hell, we don't even know if the X-Box 2 will even be called the X-Box 2! Still, I wouldn't be surprised if it did have a 3.5gHZ processor. That'd make it one bloody powerful console. You could run Half-Life 2 at it's best with that...Well that, and an awesome graphics card...

The Xbox CPU will be a multi-core processor based on IBM’s 64-bit POWER5 architecture
It is worth noting the Xbox 2 is a multiprocessor-enabled, 64-bit platform; a proven server architecture that, in the case of Xbox, won’t take advantage of the greater than 4-GB physical memory space benefit of 64-bit computing but will make use of its other benefit: wider data paths and registers, something extremely useful in the execution and process of both integer and floating-point calculations. The technology also supports up to 512 MB of external memory on a 256-bit bus. However, current specs plan to use 256 MB RAM, big enough for next-generation visuals which are all about computational power rather than large storage. and this is goning to be the one of the best. i hope its better than the PS3 but the PS3 has Tivo recoreding tv programs that sounds good. EE Times reports further details on Microsoft's use of IBM chips in its next generation Xbox game and consumer electronics devices, dealing a blow to Intel and providing a much needed boost for IBM's lossmaking chip business." An ****yst claims that "IBM is likely to modify its most advanced G5 PowerPC silicon, which is being used in Apple Computer's fastest Macintosh desktops.
but 3.5 Ghz that sound good. ![]() |
