Doom 3

Well I am surprised to see that none of the c/d members have made a thread on this game! Just got my copy of Doom3, a day before offical release date for the UK and I have to admit it's very good and worth the money. I can see why PC owners of Doom3 rate the game so highly and I just hope Half Life 2 comes out before chrimbo for the Xbox or soon after for the Xbox 2 as this should also be very good port.

Final Note: Doom3 I dont think can knock Halo1 or 2 of the top spot for best FPS but it's made a good go of it! who else owns the game?

it was released in aus yesterday, my brotheri think has already got it. he messaged me that DOOM3 was coming out 2moz, DOOM3 out 2day!!!!! i wanna play it but i aint too good a survival horror. its the horror part coz i suck at games like the suffering and silent hill.

j/w before i get to is the co-op mode through the normal storyline or does it have its own or jus sum wackey missions?

co op is a shortened down version of the full game.. less puzzles more action.. very short or so i'm told

just ordered myself the collecters addition via amazon..

i wanna kick ass on the old doom games via split screen co op ^_^

sucks that the doom 3 game isn't split screen tho >.<

A friend at school heard that the XBox version is better than the PC version. I'll definitely check it out..

i might be selling my PC version for it, or just get both to determine them both. smart idea, but aint the flashest idea, could get a bit expensive. but if my computer drops dead, i can play it on the xbox.

In doom 3 limited collectors edition - heh has anyone noticed that theres a doom version of the origional wolfenstein 3d in doom 2. I don't know if this was in doom 2 anyway or they have just thrown it in.. brings me back to the good o'll days anyway. =D

How scary would you guys say this game is? I'd say the main thing that makes me kinda shakey is the sound... the noises like whispering and screaming.. i'd probably die if i had surround sound =P Heh and seeing people pinned to the ceiling with their guts hanging out, squirming in pain dosn't really scare me... just makes me feel rather sick =P

the scariest part is when u have to follow this guy who has a flash light that occasionally goes out. After a while the guts and the darkness become a bit depressing, you enjoy the game more if you play it for half an hour a day insted of 2 hours or whatever.

I've got the xbox LE, and its better in my opinion. I wish i had a bigger tv for it, i've only got a 34cm one, but with the big 127cm in the lounge i rarely get to improve the experience. Do you reckon that by buying surround sound will be cooler.

hmm getting a surround sound system would be very cool, must admit I thought about buying one myself but I want a multiformat system to use on the PC, PS2 and my Xbox only the one I see cost rather large amount of money (£100) Aint like I carnt afford it but still I dont really need it.

it took my bout a day and im at where ur usin the tram like thing to move through the tunnels on the track its lvl u find the beholders things on, but yea its awsome game but only thing i didnt like was the point that u need 2 xboxs to play co-op mode that i found was kinda lame

yea i knwo co-op cudda been better but god scary parts is like best part of game i love playin it in dark with like volume high its so friggen awsome lol i loved part where u r in the dark with the scientist with the lamp that goes otu sumtimes that was awsome scariness of game is wat really makes it difficult if wasent scary u cud prob easy beat in liek 4 hours.

Iv only played the demo but from what I have seen looks pretty good.
