Xenon to premiere on MTV (Xbox2)

The Xbox 2 publicity machine is starting to gather momentum, and now a solid date for the unveiling of the console has been revealed by Xbox big-shot Peter Moore. The console's first showing will not be (as most believed) at Microsoft's pre-E3 press conference, but on MTV, in front of the eyes of an impatient world.

Microsoft has explained that, "Just as MTV revolutionised the way the world experiences music, the next-generation videogame console from Xbox will spark a revolution in how consumers experience games and other forms of digital entertainment."

While this is great news for the gaming public, many are suggesting that Microsoft was forced to act because of some dirty dealings by anxious competitor Sony. The Japanese electronics giant was all ready to steal the show by unveiling the PS3 at its own press conference on the outskirts of Los Angeles, away from the hustle and bustle of the LA Convention Center where E3 is held, mere hours before Microsoft's official pre-E3 event.

This would have meant that the world's gaming media would have been unable to cover both unveilings, thereby taking attention away from the next Xbox. By broadcasting the show over MTV, Microsoft will reach its worldwide target audience with ease, speed and style - long before Sony has the chance to lift the lid on PS3.

The UK edition of the show, which will feature exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of the 'making of Xenon' will air at 8pm on Friday 13 May. Start planning your evening now...

Heh, awesome...It's a shame that the X-Box 2 will be unveiled on MTV though. MTV sucks...It used to be cool, but I hate it now... Aaah well, at least we'll get to see the X-Box 2. Awesome info mate! I'll certainly be watching MTV on that date...

@Fist Face: I wouldnt worry about it, it'll be in Xbox mags or somthin a week or so later.

I really do hope the Xbox2 controlers dont look like the ones I seen that were... so called "leaked" out from the factory.... awwwhha they were auful and they were in white!!! sick bucket please?
