Emmm HRBEK, if ya read this you'll probably know. I'm stuck on Sapphire on the Gym leaders at Mossdeep. I have been at them for about a week and I can't beat them. Here is my team, is ther anytin wrong that needs changing for them?
Sceptile: Lvl 38 Tentacruel: Lvl 37 Kadabra: Lvl 33 Swellow: Lvl 34 Ryhorn: Lvl 35 Magneton: Lvl 38 Are these good types to use? |

mossdeep is primarilly psychic, ur tentacruel for instance will suffer with its poison type. i reckon the two hardest pokes are the twins lunatone and solrock, now those are both rock/psychic types which will bash ur poor swellow. ur ryhorn would be usefull against the two rock types if they didn't posess the levitate ability, the magneton is pretty much useless against this gym leader, the sceptile would be usefull but i think its level is too low to really make a dent in the twins two rock/psychics especially as they tend to cosmic power/light screen alot. i would reccomend having some dark pokemon, go for something like a crawdaunt/sharpedo or cacturne that way you will have the advantage on type, cacturne is a good choice as its the strongest dark pokemon " in SP ATT stat" if i recall they use sunny day quite a bit, so if you were to put solarbeam and faint attack on a level 45 or so cacturne you should have pretty much no trouble with them. |

What TM moves do you have? Anyway, I too would suggest a Dark-type Pok'emon. Cruch would be a good move. A Water-type would also help because Lunatone and Solrock are both Rock-types. Does your Tentacruel know Surf?
Thanks, HRBEK.

the tentagruel won't last 5 minutes in that gym because of its part poison type, i think a crawdaunt with crunch and clab hammer, or a sharpedo with surf and cruch would be a good bet.

good advice, sharpedo i think has a higher speacial attack than crawdaunt, however cacturne has the highest of all and is still a favourable grass type.

Tentacruel would still do some decent damage with Surf or Hydro Pump.
Thanks, HRBEK.

yes but if it doesn't its stuffed, go for a better water/dark/grass pokemon.
leave sceptile because its crap, i think the best grass pokemon in my opinion is a modest exeggutor. a wailord with water spout would be pretty decent, it also hits both pokemon i think. mind u so does surf lol |

Magneton would be a decent Pokémon to use if Solrock didn't have Sunny Day and Flamethrower (or another Fire-type move). It would defend you from their Psychic and Rock-type moves. However, if you raise your Magneton a little more, it may be able to outrun them and do some decent damage if you attack them with an Electric attack. Also, it'd be good for you to paralyze them using Thunder Wave (if it has it).
Other than that, training a Cacturne may take a little too long, since you would have to capture a Cacnea and train it over 20 levels. I would recommend fishing for a Wailord and a Sharpedo, perhaps, just for the mean time.

Yeah, you will probably have to use what you've got. It will take ages to raise a new Pok'emon to a competitive level.
Thanks, HRBEK.

With Kyogre, a Fire, Fighting, and Electric-type Pokémon and/or moves, you should be able to defeat the Elite Four.
