I have two older computers (1Ghz & 700Mhz) on a LAN. I want to install Half Life: Counter Strike and play it with a friend. I want to know which version of Counter Strike I should install/download/purchase and what mods are best. Having intelligent bot mod(s) is required because it will be just the two of us.

Counter Strike Condition Zero because it has the best bots (Requires original Counter Strike.)
1 Ghz and 700Mhz are not enough to run Counter Strike Source. Last edited by -eSp-; 09-18-2005 at 02:27 AM.. |

Can a 700Mhz computer handle Condition Zero? For Condition Zero, do I need Half Life, Counter Strike MOD, and Condition Zero MOD?

Yes it can though 100 extra Mhz is recomended. It requires Counter Strike which comes with Half Life. Condition Zero is an official mod.

Actually, you don't need Half-Life for Condition Zero. Condition Zero isn't a mod, you can just buy it without Half-Life. My friends have Condition Zero and they don't own Half-Life...in actual fact, the original Counter-Strike comes with Condition Zero...
But yeah, I think a 700mHZ processor can handle CS: CZ... |

Is the CZ bot intelligence better than PodBot 2.5?

Is there a way to turn off the excess blood and language in CZ and CS?

Well sure... if you reprogram the game to not consist of thoose features, I know i'm being a pain in the @$$ by saying that but I need an excuse to get higher post count, I don't know why but I want to increase my post count it just seems to God dman low.

I have CZ now, but how do I start an OFFLINE multiplayer LAN game? The menu has New Game, World Map, Load Game, Change Game, Options, and Quit. Please advise.

I have CS;CZ and CS 2.6, both of which came when I bought CZ.
You need to have them both installed on both pc's, they also have to be netowrked, either througha networking gateway, or a normal LAN. Then just simply make a server (possibly on the faster cpu) and get the ip for the other pc (add the ip into your favourites and join) Dunno about lag with it all |
