Apart from Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero and Mortal Kombat 4, I don't think there were really any good fighting games. Not counting comedy beat-em-ups like Super Smash Brothers that is.

I didn't really like Killer Instinct Gold. One thing that p*ssed me off about that game, Mortal Kombat Triolgy, was that I could never perform Animalities. The game got boring so quickly.
