Interesting Anime's

Well, I know people here on C/D don't really know too much about Anime's.

All I see is the stuff that is actually shown on television (which is mostly crap)

So allow me to give you all some info about some very awesome Anime's, we'll start off with the comedy/entertaining ones, by far Anime's greatest quality is comedy.

So,

Nagasarete Airantou

An Anime for people who like humor and adventure, and ofcourse the effect of one single boy living on an island with tons of girls

Nagasarete Airantou revolves around Ikuto Tōhōin, the main character, who ran away from home because of a fight with his father.
Due to a life-long dream of wanting to board a ship, Ikuto decides to take a vacation until the ship is suddenly hit by a huge storm throwing Ikuto overboard.

He wakes up the next day to discover he is on an uncharted island populated by girls.
Ikuto finds himself to be extremely popular on the island due to the fact that no other men are currently on the island.
In effect, nearly the entire island starts going after Ikuto to become his bride, all except a young girl named Suzu (Played by Yui Horie!) and her extremely old grandmother.

Suzu's grandmother decides that Ikuto will live with Suzu for the time being, but Ikuto initially finds it difficult to adjust, especially with the entire island population after him night and day.
Meanwhile, Suzu does her best to protect Ikuto from the masses.

However, Ikuto still does not want to stay on the island any longer, and soon after arriving, he attempts to leave by boat, but discovers the island is completely surrounded by whirlpools and thus it is impossible to leave.
With no other choice, Ikuto starts to settle into life on the island.


Sumomo mo Momo mo

An anime for people who really like hilarious stuff, usually with a weak storyline, but tons and tons of humor which ofcourse makes up for it.

Sumomo mo Momo mo revolves around the life of Kōshi Inuzuka, a normal high school student who is trying to become a prosecutor after graduating.

One day, a strange girl named Momoko Kuzuryū approaches him and informs him that they are betrothed and expected to produce (yes, produce! It's just too funny) a strong child together, though Kōshi does not accept it.

After Kōshi and Momoko's initial meeting, Kōshi realizes that Momoko is not just a normal, though however strange, girl, as she has been trained by her father in a special form of martial arts that only twelve such families in all of Japan are able to possess.

These twelve families coincide with the twelves animals of the Chinese zodiac, where Momoko is from the family associated with dragons, while Kōshi is from the family associated with dogs.
The dragon family is the head of the six families of the west, whereas the dog family is the head of the six families of the east.

Before long, it is revealed to Kōshi and Momoko that five of the six western families are out on a plot to assassinate Kōshi to prevent him from marrying Momoko, which would cement the twelve families together by bonds of blood. This assassination would be the start of a martial artist war, which would be the seventh such war of the twelve Zodiac Masters of Japan. Kōshi must now fight for his life as Momoko protects him, hoping he will return her affection.

Nodame Cantabile

An anime, ofcourse in the Comedy category, but so much more, I think this one is more for the older age people, maybe 16+, it's not violent or anything, but it's just complicated. This surely is one of my fav's, it contains a great storyline, with unique characters, awesome music, and ofcourse a teasing romance story.

Shinichi Chiaki is the top piano student at the Momogaoka College of Music and an excellent violinist, but Chiaki doesn't care about playing these instruments as much as he dreams of someday being a conductor. Chiaki, however, has several deeply rooted fears about traveling, and so finds himself "trapped" in Japan. Because he's trapped, Chiaki starts to question exactly how far he can possibly go in music, especially when he's passed over again and again by others he believes less worthy of musical scholarship and fame.

Recently dumped by his girlfriend for a "ham" looking fellow, passed over for a chance to go overseas, and removed from his star spot in the piano competition because he walked out on his piano instructor, Chiaki is at his limit. This is when he meets Nodame, or Megumi Noda. Nodame is a free — and filthy — spirit who reminds Chiaki that music can be fun and what drew him to be a conductor in the first place. In learning how to deal with Nodame, Chiaki learns how to deal with others. Chiaki begins to realize what is possible for him, even within the country of Japan.

For Nodame, Chiaki is everything she isn't. Clean, neat, dedicated, studious and inherently arrogant about his accomplishments and capabilities, Chiaki constantly bullies her into being more serious about life. He sees potential in her and her abilities as a pianist that she doesn't care about. She loves Chiaki and wants to be with him, but because she's not serious about her piano studies nor her personal hygiene, Chiaki always denies her affections.

Drawn together in a turbulent relationship, Chiaki's perfectionism and Nodame's untamed nature ends up complementing each other. As the story progresses, they mature as individuals, as musicians and as a couple.



That's a starting 3 I guess, I was gonna add my fav Anime but meh, I don't think it suits this audience , but if a miracle happens and someone actually likes all of these, I might change my mind.

Azumanga Daioh

An Anime for people who like humor and adventure, and mostly revolving around girls living their life at school

Azumanga Daioh follows everyday life in a high school in Tokyo, following the trials and triumphs of six girls: reserved Sakaki's obsession with cute animals, Chiyo's struggle to fit in with girls five years older, Osaka's skewed perspective on the world, Yomi's aggravation at an annoying best friend, Tomo, whose energy is rivaled only by her lack of sense, and Kagura's efforts in sports and school.

The story covers three years of tests, culture festivals, and athletic events at school, after-school life at the nearby shopping district, at Chiyo's large house, vacations spent at Chiyo's summer home on the beach and at Magic Land, a theme park.

It is generally realistic in tone, marked by occasional bursts of surrealism and absurdity, such as Osaka's bizarre imaginings and an episode featuring the characters' New Year's dreams.




Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan (Lit. Club-To-Death Angel Dokuro-chan)

An anime for people who really like hilarious stuff, usually with a weak storyline, but tons and tons of humor which ofcourse makes up for it.

Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan tells the story of Sakura Kusakabe, a second-year junior high school student who 'sometime' in the future is going to offend God by inadvertently inventing immortality. Women are affected so that they stop aging after the age of twelve and Sakura is accused of creating a "Pedophile's World".

Dokuro Mitsukai, a member of an order of angel assassins that are called Rurutie, has been sent from the future to kill him. Believing that Sakura can be redeemed, Dokuro decides instead to keep Sakura so occupied that he can never develop the immortality technology. Due to her impulsive nature, however, she frequently kills him - with her gigantic spiked kanabō (club) she has named Excalibolg - on a moment's impulse, returning him to life moments later with angelic magic.

Sabato, another assassin of the Rurutie order who uses her feminine wiles to do her jobs, is dispatched to complete Dokuro's original mission: Sakura's assassination.




Mahou Sensei Negima

An anime from the makers of the famous "Love Hina", quickly flourished into a very famous well known anime for it's story, characters and humor.

Negi Springfield is a nine year old wizard (He starts out at 9 and is 10 years old as the story goes on) from Wales who dreams of becoming a Magister Magi, special wizards who use their powers to help normal people using covers such as working for NGOs.

Negi's reason for becoming a Magister Magi is to find his father, Nagi Springfield, the legendary mage also known as the "Thousand Master" who many believe to be dead. Later, it is exposed that while his power or ability seem to be among the greatest in the magical world, he regularly uses an 'anchoko', or crib sheet, since he apparently does not bother to memorize the spells themselves.

After graduating from the Merdiana Magic Academy in Wales, he is given a duty as a cover in the real world, and training, before he actually becomes a Magister Magi. That duty is to become an English teacher at Mahora Academy in Japan. The task will not be easy, however, as Negi will become a teacher to a Middle School class of 31 older girls, each very special in her own way. The series details his time and adventures in Japan as he gains acceptance and respect from his students, helps them in their problems, and faces magical threats from inside and outside Mahora Academy.




Neon Genesis Evangelion

I'm hoping some of you already seen, or at least heard about this Anime, it's one of the most famous anime's ever, for a reason.

Evangelion 's story began in 2000 with the "Second Impact", a global cataclysm which almost completely destroyed Antarctica and led to the deaths of half the human population of Earth. The Impact is believed by the public at large to be the result of a meteorite traveling at nearly the speed of light impacting in Antarctica and causing the disaster. However, it is later revealed to be the result of an experiment with the first Angel, Adam.

The series begins in 2015 as Tokyo-3, a militarized civilian city located on one of the last dry sections of Japan, is attacked by the third Angel. Conventional weapons are ineffective, but the paramilitary organization NERV is able to intercept and defeat the Angels using the Evangelions (Evas), biomechanical mecha developed in secret in the Geofront underneath Tokyo-3. The Evas are piloted by 14-year-old children, Shinji Ikari (the estranged son of NERV's commander Gendo Ikari), Rei Ayanami, and Asuka Langley Soryu, who control the Evas through "synchronization" - their souls are meshed with souls contained in the Evas, which allows the pilots to control the Evas through simple thought but also subjects them to pain resulting from damage to their Evas. Along with the battles against the Angels, the central characters struggle to overcome their personal issues and personality conflicts, which factor heavily into the events of the series and its eventual conclusion.




Ragnarok The Animation

An Anime based on the most popular MMORPG in all of east-asia, and very popular in the rest of the world too.

The story happens in the same world of Rune-Midgard (as in the MMORPG), yet the progression gets darker. An evil entity called the Dark Lord wants to create chaos in the world with the help of seven crystals that represent the seven ambitions (also known as the Seven Strengths) who sealed him away years ago. More of this story can't be said because it will ruin everything




Seto No Hanayome

An Anime for people who love comedy and absurdity, especially in the later episodes this anime gets even crazier and funnier.

Seto no Hanayome's story revolves around a young teenage boy named Nagasumi Michishio. One day during his summer vacation, Nagasumi was saved from drowning by a mermaid, Sun Seto, in the Seto Inland Sea. However, under mermaid law, if a mermaid's identity as a mermaid has been revealed, both the mermaid who was involved and the human who saw the mermaid are to be executed. In an attempt to save both Nagasumi and Sun's lives, Sun's family, which is apparently the head of its own mob, reluctantly decides that the two are to be married.

Gōzaburō, Sun's father, however, is enraged about his daughter running off and getting married, especially to a human whom he deems inferior. Between Gōzaburō's attempts on his life and the madcap antics of a whole slew of antagonists — including the daughter of a rival mobster and a rich male transfer student with an attraction for Sun — Nagasumi is not enjoying a very smooth transition into his new lifestyle.

I don't have a big official thing for it, but Tsubasa, although not translated, is amazing. Maybe I'm just a sap, but it's really heartwarming and exciting.

It's about a boy and a girl, traveling between two dimensions with three others. The boy's name is Xiaolang (or Syaoran, in the manga) and the girl's is Sakura. Basically, it revolves around them trying to get Sakura's memory back. (she's clueless xDDD) There's a huge twist RIGHT in the beginning, but because it's there I won't spoil it (: Let's just say, it's amazing what some people would do for the people they love :O (even if it is an anime)

Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood - FMA but follows the manga
Bleach - crap, but its amusing
Death Note - Best anime I've ever seen, alot of mystery and unexpected twists
Code Geass (R2) - similar to Deathnote, lots of unexpected twists
Naruto Shippuden

Definately going to check that first one with the boy trapped on chick island! sounds hilarious
