Xbox360 problem
I have a slight problem, it appears as tho my Xbox360 might be on its way to heaven/hell as it flashed with 3 red lights this afternoon just after turning it on and loading test drive unlimited.
However, after swearing at the damn thing and letting it rest for a few minutes I turned it vertical and it fires back into life. Question now is, how long is going to last.... |

I've never laid it down flat but now i know not to
. i'd say just keep vertical and see what happens. if it does it again, call microsoft.

I have the same issue with the Nintendo Wii when it comes to laying it horizontal versus vertical.
Well, not so much as having red lights flash at me three times, but there is a loading error or reading disc error that occurs. I have been thinking about utilizing Nintendo's amazing customer service, but I am far too busy and lazy at the time.

Point is, why do you have to trade in an X-Box that was probably purchased within a year or so?
Quality must be lacking immensely.

I got mine in June 2006 so its still in M$'s 3 year support warranty so if goes again then I may consider sending it to M$ but I'm worried that I'll loose my Hard Drive ect. My other option is for the local shop to fix it but failing all that I could just buy me a brand new core system and stick my HardDrive onto that.
Either way, at the moment its running fine. Very strange. |

Mine used to show the 3 red lights all the time. I just Unplugged the powercord and plugged it back in. Works fine now.

Make sure its well vented and if need be run a fan near it to help the flow along. Mine is laid flat and well away from anything else and have had no problems at all. The newer board revisions are meant to be better.
