super mario 64??

i know some people have played this classic and i have a question about the game. is super mario 64 in the 2nd person perspective or 3rd person perspective? i always thought it was in 3rd person but i just realized that during the game you take the perspective of the lakitu that flys behind mario on the cloud with the camera. if you don't believe me then play the game and go to the room with the mirrors on the 2nd floor of the castle and you can see the lakitu.

Technically it's second-person in that regard. Realistically though, you'd have to call it a third-person game. Look at Resident Evil 4... That's a third-person game and yet Super Mario 64 gets better third-person camera angles, haha. It's a bit of both really, but I consider it to be a third-person game.
