How you doin?

Haven't made a thread for a while, thought I'd make kind of a general thing...

Just post about what you're up to in here right now in terms of life. As in like student, working whatever...

Right now I'm in year 13 studying English Language, Psychology and History at A-Level. I get to cover some pretty interesting stuff (especially in Psychology), but in terms of exams, it's awful. So much writing for all of them haha, boring as ****.

I don't have a part-time job or anything, mainly because I just can't be bothered to get one But I'm cool in terms of money atm anyway so employment is unnecessary for me right now haha

Life's fine. I could complain for hours, but looking at it overall, it's pretty good. lol

NOW YOU TRY

Feel free to ask people about stuff if you're interested btw, that was kinda the point in the first place, just to generate some more discussion lol

^you think 3 exams is horrible?
I did my leaving cert last year, equivalent of A levels, we don't go into as much detail as your courses, but we do 7 subjects, some of us had 8. So that's 8 written exams, plus 2/3 orals, plus project work, plus practical exams.

I'm a first year college student, studying Computer Applications in Dublin City University. Basically we cover Programming (doing java atm) Maths (with a lunatic for a "lecturer" who often uses elephants and chairs as ****ogies for mathematical concepts) Hardware, Web Design, and Managment (Dx) and then the last 4 are done for now, starting 4 new subjects in february, along with more prog. and maths. The course is difficult, but has low entry req. and huge amount of places, so everyone gets in. At least 100 drop out by the start of 2nd year. One year 250 started, 4 years later, 70 graduated from that group. Anyhow!
I've quit my job cause the situation and manager were horrible, but just got an extra €400 in my last pay cheque ^__^ lol

Uhm, well...

I was recently a working professional, but I was laid off due to downsizing. I was known as a Product Line Coordinator and managed projects worth millions of dollars. I did just about everything, including: customer service, planning, purchasing, sales administration, a bit of the technical engineering work, among tons of other things. On top of that, I was also taking 14 units (or hours) of college course work.

Because I am now fired up and ready to move on to a four-year university to attain a Bachelor's Degree, I enrolled into 17 units this semester and I might add an additional 3 if I can get counselor approval for overload (technically you are only allowed 19.5 units). I should complete all the necessary requirements by this coming Summer and transfer by Fall.

Current courses are:
  • Elementary German II
  • Elementary Astronomy
  • Intro to Political Science
  • History of Motion Pictures
  • Speech Communication

I am still debating whether or not I want to add International Relations to that list.

I just got back from my first two morning classes. I go back this evening for another 4 hours of school. To top it all off, I have spent $219 on just two books with another 2-3 books to be purchased.

Can you tell I am loving life? Haha!

Oh! I just got back from Las Vegas, too.

I'm currently a senior in high school. I have a scholarship to run track at a college around where I live. I'm in Calculus, Physics, Mythology, Economics, and a Fitness class. I don't work right now because I'm trying to stay focused on school. Uh...I don't really have anything else to say I guess.

And for my love life, some people might think im too young, but bla bla , im turning 15 next month, i think im old enough to have a girlfriend. We've been going out for over a year now, and things are still going smoothly, well i find they are aha.

So ya, my life's good atm.

Thumbs down Hmmm

These things happen with time. Sometimes when you spend a lot of time with somebody (particularly if you're not particularly open with each other), then you can drift apart. Talk to your girlfriend and be there for her because this will be a confusing and emotional time for her. If you can prove to her that you still care about her and that you will always be there for her when she needs you, then I'm sure she will become sure of her emotions again.

The worst thing you can do in a situation like this is sit back and feel sorry for yourself. Sometimes even giving her space can be counterproductive. You need to be there for her and essentially not let her forget why it is that she wanted to be with you in the first place. Take her down memory lane and go to places with her that the two of you haven't been to for a while. Never be afraid to remind her of the way you feel and assure her that you will always be there for her and that you care about her more than anything else in the world (apart from HRBEK).

Remember that 'Memory Lane' isn't the only lane in this city. Try new things with her and give her even more reasons to enjoy being with you. Go to the beach with her and play some sport or something. Dress up and go out for dinner somewhere if you can. Experimenting can be intimidating for younger people, but trying new things (even if they don't work out) demonstrates to your partner that you care and that you want to learn more about her. Just be true to yourself and use your knowledge of her to guide you in your approach to this little hurdle in your relationship.

Hope that helps mate... Good luck!!!

Thanks,
HRBEK.

School's going pretty good. I'm a freshman in high school, though. I'm taking Geometry, Biology, World History/Geography I (Probably the easiest class I've taken ever.), Gym, Spanish II, and Honors English 9. I get to choose my next classes some time before January 26th because that's when I start taking exams. :< I'm planning to take Algebra II/Trigonometry, Chemistry, World History/Geography II, Gym, Honors English 10, Japanese I or Spanish III (I haven't decided yet.), and Art Foundations. I'm hoping that my schedule gets done perfectly to where I get out one day at 12:19pm & one day at 2:14pm. :<

I need a job. Sadly, I only have two options. One, go to court and hope they give me a work permit saying I can work at the age of 14. Or two, wait until I'm 16. I'm probably going to wait until I'm 16 because by then I'll be able to drive. And I wanna wait and see if there's a half decent job opening up. :< I really wanna work at GameStop, but I hear you have to be at least 18 to work there. I'm probably just going to walk around the mall and see if there's any place worth working at. =/ But I have no idea yet.

Lets see.

Well.

Thankfully, I just got back from winter break, so all my midterms are over! (:

I failed my Piano 1 exam, though. I did amazing the written part, but, that ****er Scott Joplin or whatever had to make his song really ****ing hard to learn in a week.

Ugh.

The Entertainer, by the way.

But. Now, I have Drivers Ed, English (AWMG NO WEI!), German I, Adv Alg nd Trig, US History (thankfully, my teacher points out when there's a flaw with the biased nature of the book (: ) music tech I , nd chemistry.

next year will be way better.

Gym (surprise surprise>_> all four ****ing years here in good 'ol Illinois) English III, German II, Pre-Calculus, AP Government and Politics, Physics Honors, American Originals, Consumer Ed, History of Ideas (philosophy ftw!). I can't wait (:

I'm a 'smore, by the way. (sophomore, for those of you not in the know :p *cough*everyoneovertheageof20*cough* what? what? noo, nitrous, not you! of course not!)

nd. as far as relationships go, I'm amazingly lucky to be with the person I'm with. Not in the pathetic "I'm not worthy!" way, but in the "holycrapthisisamazing" way.
So, I'd have to say, minus the ridiculously annoying grade-stress incoming from, guess who? The 'rents xDDD, I'm doing pretty good (:
