The Sports Bar

Pretty much a thread for discussing sports of all kind.

The NFL Preseason kicks off this weekend. I can't wait! Anyone else looking forward to the new season?

Footballs alright but I like baseball much better and right now we are right in the juicy part of the season where teams pull away or catch up. Good stuff.

I was watching SportsNation and some of the NY Mets players are growing beards and are saying they won't shave until they get into the playoffs.

I see no razors in their futures. lmao

Lol. I doubt they will carry that one out. Maybe if they had a chance and it was later in the season but...yeah. Especially with all the injuries this year.

^Yes

Well Brady is back for the Patriots and the Eagles signed Vick. Thats all I need to know about the NFL right now.

I don't really like Tom Brady. He comes across as cocky to me. I'm not just saying that because he's good, I wouldn't have a problem if he was a humble guy and the best ever.

Michael Vick signing with the Eagles kinda threw me off. Why? Is he the future of the franchise? We all know McNabb is inconsistant but that suprised me that they would do that. I figured it would be the 49er's since they have the biggest QB problem in the league, atm.

^They supposedly did that so McNabb'll be a mentor to Vick and help him become a "complete quarterback". I guess?

Anyway, I know NBA's not even close, but this is a interesting little thing.

Quentin Richardson has been traded FOUR times in the passed 2 months!! xD I thought that was crazy funny, to be honest.

Haha. That is funny. And not during the season so he hasnt even done anything.

Maybe Vick and McNabb can go pitune or whatever its called. One guy can QB one game and the other the next. Then if one of them gets hurt, they have a decent backup.

^I agree. If McNabb was injured they could find comfort in the fact that they have an experienced QB they can turn to.

As for NBA, I think the Lakers are going to be great again. They still have LaMar Odom. The Cavs might not be to bad either.

^I dunno, man. I love the Cavs and all (they're my favorite team), but Shaq's not the youngest man in the world. We did get some good role players in Jamario Moon and Leon Powe, though. All though Leon Powe won't be able to play 'til what, February?

Dude last year in the playoffs when Lebron made that last second shot. That was sick.
