Tales of Senphynia

[Magoseong]

Long ago, the planet Symphonia was on the verge of total destruction from the Beast - an entity of darkness, consuming everything in it's path. The world was saved by a group of heroes, who defeated the Beast by using the forces of magic, resulting in the creation of mana and the World Tree known as Yggdrasil. Though the Beast was destoryed, much life on Symphonia had been destoryed from the catastrophe. In an attempt to prevent total extinction of humanity, the heroes created the second race of humans through mana. Afterwards, Symphonia was divided into seperate worlds, each of them being inhabited by humans of the second race..

Nearly 2000 years have past since..

On the planet of Senphynia, one of the worlds of Symphonia, the land is slowly dying due to a steady loss of mana. Natural environments have been altered drastically and many kingdoms have been left virtually powerless. In all the struggle and confusion, King Kyrent, ruler of the dragon kingdom of Vallot, has commenced a sudden conquest of the other nations during this crisis. It was a brutal onslaught and many nations fell to King Kyrent's mysterious infinte forces.

The country of Lesaia (home nation of the heroes) is locked in strife with Vallot. As the relentless Vallot army invade the land and Lesaia troops make a desperate attempt to push them back, the small village of Barnet gets caught in crossfire.. With the entire town demonlished in flames and nearly everyone killed, a group of young survivors gather and set off on a seemingly suicidal journey to confront Kyrent, vowing for revenge..




A remake of Tales of Senphynia (a RP that's like three years old and exceeded 100 pages - it was also finished, much to my surprise)

As you can see, I'm trying to stay REAL close to the original story, though adding a few additional changes, which are probably necessary considering that I can't remember ALL of the original plot (by that, I mean BARELY remember any of the original plot T_T)..

Biography-A country boy in Barnet, a proficient martial artist. Hardy and headstrong, Syun has a strong sense of determination and loyality, always fighting to protect his beloved ones and showing no mercy towards those who threaten them. Though sometimes, Syun can get carried away and end up hurting himself in the progress. He is quite stubborn and often strives to get things done his own way. He can also be pretty dense at times. Despite being hotheaded and reckless, he usually resorts to logic rather then brawn in most situations. He is known to be rather insecure around girls and has a hard time socializing with them. He usually exhibits his atrocious sense of humor whenever he talks to any girls directly. In battle, he is skilled in various martial arts and specializes in hand-to-hand combat, though he can use swords and similar weapons to some extent. Occasionally, he also uses magic due to his Drive.

Biography-A strange boy with dog ears and a tail. He is a long-time friend of Syun's. With a laid-back demeanor, he is quite immature whenever he comes across dire situations, though his childish behavior is often excused due to his excessive combat prowess. Kelos often looks upon himself as being inexperienced and young, so he usually treats most of his friends like his older siblings. He is very naive and gullible, easily trusting others and always disdaining any lies. Though Kelos is generally calm and docile, he easily becomes frantic and upset whenever someone comes in physical contact with his tail, which is extremely sensitive to the touch. Kelos uses heavy swords and also specializes in some healing magic.

A group of young warriors find themselves protecting an enigmatic princess, fighting against an endless wave of enemies.. Fall after fall of each foe, the group becomes faituged and restless..

They are suddenly encountered by a malicious threat..

"... You earnestly think you can defeat me?"

Maybe it Was Fated (Main theme of Senphynia)

A tall man is seen dressed in noble robes - his hair flowing like dangerous flames. Wielding the fiercesome titan spear - Slayer of Gods, Longinus. All around the man, are scattered bodies of fallen soldiers dressed in red armor.

"Weak and incompotence plagues this world to it's core.. You are all but merely pests who struggle against the inevitable.."

Syun is seen on the ground, slowly getting up - blood drips from his mouth. He looks up at the taller man. "You..!" Using all avaiable strength, he stands and wipes blood from his mouth. He takes a quick look around, noticing the carnage around him. Syun glares at the man with a cold face. "... B@stard!!" He slowly gets into stance, clenching his fists - preparing for another assault.

Kelos is seen walking towards Syun, dragging his cracked sword across the ground. He stands beside Syun and looks at the tall man. "Uh.." He picks his sword up and wields it in front of him, getting into stance. He looks back at a girl. "D-don't worry.. w-we'll protect you.. P-Princess.." He weakly utters this.

The girl behind everyone is shrouded in shadows.. "... Please.. I beg of you.. Don't do this..!" The princess' voice is heard faintly.

Kelos weakly smiles at the girl. "D-don't.. worry..! He.. he.." He looks forward at the man.

[Admiral44]

Cless is slowly approaching Syun and stands on his other side, panting. He looks exhausted. "W-weak and... Incompetent we are, huh?" Cless then gets in his stance. His eyes are glowing a bit. "We'll just see about that!"

Chester is behind Syun, Kelos, and Cless, loading his bow. He looks back at the girl. "Don't worry so much. We'll do everything in our power to make sure you get out of this."

Raymondo is seen even farther behind everyone, flipping through his book. He's smirking. "Heh heh... My magic can pierce your armor, buddy! I'd bet two million gald." Raymondo then begins to chant, a glyph appearing underneath him.

[Magoseong]

"... What keeps you motivated?" The man swings Longinus across. "To be willingly enough to risk your own pitiful lives to protect a stranger. Why? I wonder.."

Syun clenches his fist tightly and blood is seen dripping down from them. "It's just how we are.. When someone's in danger, I don't see why we need a specific reason to help them!" Syun points his fist at the man, a blaze rushes out from his hand.

"... Such foolish behavior. Wasting away lives like this.. This is why this world will always be weak and incompetent."

Kelos shakes his head. "Nah! This kind of stuff is what makes us stronger.. !" His eyes glow green.

"Is that what you believe? Fool.. Strength isn't born from irrational heroism. It comes from man's will.. The very will to survive. Without that power, you will simply dissapear alongside those who are weak and spiritless. But if you truly believe that.." He swirls Longinus around and plants it down on the ground, with the massive blade pointing up. "Then prove me wrong.."

[Admiral44]

Cless scoffs, causing his eyes to glow a bit. "Tsk." Cless then dashes at the man rather recklessly.

Chester notices this and quickly aims at the man. "Reckless--!!" Chester quickly slides to the side and fires a stream of arrows at the man. "Hayate!"

Raymondo's book is glowing. "Crimson fury burn..." Raymondo then slams the book and points his hand at the man. "Eruption!" An eruption of fire comes out from underneath the man, doing multiple hits.

[Magoseong]

The man swings Longinus around, deflecting the arrows back. The fire hits him from below, with lava and flames engulfing his body, which shortly dissapear afterwards. "Futile..! Let the roar of mighty dragons engulf these pathetic land-based souls..!!" He plants the spear's blade into the ground, causing a giant rip to appear underneath both Chester and Raymondo. "Grand Dasher!!" The rip spews out rocks and heat, damaging both Raymondo and Chester.

Kelos dashes alongside Cless, with Syun following behind both of them. Kelos runs faster and delivers a swift strike. "Teiya!!"

The man blocks Kelos with Longinus. "Hmph.." He pushes Kelos back, causing him to fall down. "Go away.."

[Admiral44]

Cless jumps up into the air (dodging Kelos) and becomes shrouded in fire. "Hou'ou Tenku!" He then dive bombs into the man.

Chester gets hit by Grand Dasher. "Graahh!!"

A small forcefield appears around Raymondo, blocking most of the damage for him. "Fighting ME with magic?" Raymondo then quickly swings his hand, causing darkness arrows to fly at the man. "Dark Arrows."

[Magoseong]

Suddenly the man's eye glow red and the flow of time is distorted.

[Blast Caliber Activation: Ain Soph Aur "Light Without Limit"]

"Through a journey in Hell, Man shall finally accept their God." He points his hand forward, causing a stream of golden flames to arise and hit everyone from below. "We sink into vice.. Our evil shall be purged in the brightest flames.." He raises Longinus into the air, which extends into a long sword of golden light. He swings it across, hitting everyone in a single swipe. "But.. as man comes closer to Heaven's light.. More shadows are left behind." He swings Longinus the other way around, hitting everyone for a second time. "Behold.." He raises Longinus into the air and a huge release of burning light rushes out from his body, striking everyone. "The Eternal Light!!!"

"AAaaghhh!!" Everyone is heard screaming through this assault..

As everyone is engulfed in flames, Kelos' body suddenly sparks vividly blue. The man is then shrouded by darkness - unable to see everyone.

"W-what the..!? This is..!!"

"I won't.. lose here!!" Kelos swings his long sword, ridding the place of the man's burning light.

[Cancel, Blast Caliber Activation: Divine Justice]

Kelos leaps high into the air, then swings his sword back, raising it into the air. "Hyaaaahhh!!" He dives down at the man, slamming his sword into the ground, creating a green glyph that spews out a stream of radiance. "Shouha!! SOU--" Kelos lifts his sword, causing an explosion which sends Kelos flying back. "TENZAN..!!"

The man staggers back, coughing. "U-Ugh..!! I-Impossible..!!"

[Admiral44]

Cless suddenly appears in front of the man, smirking. His eyes are glowing bright, and he's pretty wounded, but regardless... It's a good chance to strike.

"I guess it's my turn." Cless says. Cless quickly upward slashes the man into the air then downward slashes him, then repeats, floating the man into the air and doing eight strikes. "Mouko Rengekiha!!" The last strike, Cless slams his blade into the man, causing both to land back on the ground. Cless then glows. "Ougi--!!"

[Blast Caliber: Ryuuko Metsugazan; Eternal Blade (Dragon Demon Chaos)]

Cless swings his sword, causing a glyph to slowly form underneath the man and a wave of energy to come out of his sword and do multiple hits on the man. Cless then jumps into the air and a pillar of light energy forms around Cless, while doing multiple hits on the man as well, swirling and fusing into his sword. "Ryuuko Metsugazan!!!" Cless then does a sumersault and falls, slamming his sword into the ground, causing the light around his sword to form into the ground (more the glyph), and it causes a huge crack into the glyph, and a clock image appears on the glyph, while light rushes out of the crack in the glyph, doing major damage on the man. Then the light and the glyph explodes, causing a small explosion of light energy to do the most damage on the man. Cless slides back far. "Grahh!!"

The man suddenly swings Longinus, causing light to spiral around his body. "Enough!! This has lasted long enough!!" He raises Longinus into the air. "Heaven, cast down your light.. Open up the gates to Hell. Come forth, lightning of God."

The sky above turns cloudly and dark.. Light spirals around Longinus and soars up into the air above.

"... This is the end.."

A huge lightning bolt comes crashing down, creating a massive explosion.

"INDIGNATION!!!"

As the explosion radiates everyone and everything in white..

[Blast Caliber: ???]

Syun, badly wounded with blood drenching his face, suddenly appears in front of the man, suddenly throwing a barrage of swift punches and kicks. His right arm is broken - all punches were done by his left hand. "Ora ora ora ORA!!!" He jumps and hammers his fists down on the man, then backflips. He's seen standing in front of the man for a brief moment, right arm hanging down. "I'LL NEVER...!!" He lunges forward, elbowing into the man's chest followed by two flip kicks which tosses the man up into the air. His broken arm is shrouded in flames. "GIVE UP!!!" He leaps forward and swipes his right arm across, uppercutting the man, creating a firey combustion. Syun lands on his knees, with the man still up in the air.

"U-Ugh..!!" The man suddenly explodes, knocking Syun back.

"Heh heh heh..!" Syun's voice is heard laughing weakly, as he gets engulfed by the explosion. "Damn.. it..! Awaghh...! I.. I screwed up...?!"

Everything goes blank white.. "Maybe It was Fated" ends.

"... Even in my dream, that move's still a dangerous technique.. huh?"



[Chapter 1: Peaceful Barnet]

In the village of Barnet, a small settlement that lives up far north in the Lesaia country..

A young boy, with furry dog ears and dressed in what seems like a blue tube top(?!!) and short beige pants is seen running up a small hill, heading towards a house. He's running on all fours, much like a dog.

Meanwhile, at Syun's house (Lockrett residence).
A young boy with grey hair, wearing a collared white vest with grey pants is seen coming out the door, slipping on gauntlets and tightening his shoes. A tall man with white hair, dressed in pale red robes accompanied by a rather young looking woman with purple wearing a white/red t-shirt and blue long skirt follows Syun out the door.

Syun turns around. "Well, I'm off! I promised Cless that I'd go hunting with him and the others."

The tall man (Syun's father, his name is Marcus) is seen rubbing his chin, looking a bit upset. Notably, his eyes are seen closed throughout the entire conversation. "Hunting, you say..? Er.. I dunno, Syun.. I heard there were pretty dangerous monsters out there. I think.. you and your friends should stay here. We got plenty of fruits and vegatables to go around the town, you know.."

The woman (Syun's mother, her name is Sara) glares at Marcus, looking a bit annoyed. "Oh, for heaven's sakes! The boy's 16! Surely he can handle a couple of boars out in the forest! Even you could take down one! Besides, our Syun's grown up, hasn't he? He's been toughening his body eversince he was a child!"

Syun looks at both his parents, looking a bit embarassed. "... Sheesh. You guys are acting as if hunting's a new thing for me." He rests his hands on his hips. "Don't worry, we'll be sure to bring back enough food for the town." He walks off, waving his hand back at his parents. "I'll see you guys in a bit!"

Syun's mother waves back, his father just slumps down, looking a bit depressed.

Syun wanders off into the village, looking around. "Where was I supposed to meet everyone again?" He utters to himself with a blue face.

[Admiral44]

"Oy, Syun-san!!" A young voice can be heard.

Behind Syun, a young boy, wearing a green t-shirt, with red shorts, he has green gauntlets and a green headband, with regular boots on runs up and walks beside Syun.. This is Raymondo. "Hey, I caught up with you! Haha." says Raymondo gleefully. He then coughs and has a mischievious look on his face. "I'm gonna guess by that look on your face, you have no clue on where we're meeting at, Syun-san~"

[Magoseong]

Syun turns and faces toward Raymondo. "Oh, Ray.." He shakes his head and simply shrugs. "Nah, I totally forgot." He bluntly sighs. "I'm assuming you know where we're supposed to go.. right?" Syun crosses his arms and looks down at Raymondo. "Say, have you seen Kelos anywhere? I found him missing from his bed back at my place.. He must have left pretty early in the morning."

[Admiral44]

Raymondo shakes his head. "No... I haven't seen him. But, he'll turn up. He always does." Raymondo then crosses his arms and looks up at the sky. "Well... I don't really remember, either, to be completely honest..." He then rubs his head. "But... I'm pretty sure Cless said that him and Chester had some errands to run first. They had to go get an apple for Chester's baby sis, Ami. And they had to help the Innkeeper with something... Then..." Raymondo then snaps. "Meet outside the church!" Raymondo suddenly shouts.

[Fun Fact: Raymondo may be fourteen, but he talks pretty intelligently. He's pretty smart.]

[Magoseong]

Syun then smiles at Raymondo. "Meet outside the church, huh? Alright! That's where we'll head then! Come on, let's get going!" He heads off but gets blocked by an old man dressed in purple robes. "Huh?"

"Oh? Pardon me.." Utters the old man. "Didn't mean to bump into you like that.."

Syun stares at the old man. "N-nah.. It's okay.. Er, who are you? I never seen you here before."

The old man rubs his chin. "What? You don't know who I am?"

Syun scratches his head. "Er.. Should I know who you are?"

The old man looks down. "Oh, come on..! We met a couple of times before! I'm Jyus!! ... Am I really that forgetable?" He sighs.
