E 74

You know, I always heard of Xbox 360 fanboys but NEVER did I ever hear anyone say: I LOVE MICROSOFT. I love the console, I love the games.. but I hate Microsoft with a passion.

I really wish it was just Sony and Nintendo, that would have been fine. Microsoft just came out of nowhere and ****ed up everything about gaming.

Anyways, yeah.. My Xbox finally got an error. It doesn't have the ring of death but just has one red light, which means there's a hardware problem. The error screen saids E 74, which apparently means that there's a video problem.

So to be blunt: What the hell do I do? Repairs apparently cost a fortune and takes too long. I heard a few people saying you can repair it manually.

You may qualify for a free repair. The 3 red lights does, but im not 100% sure if the same applys for the E74 message. Worth a try: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941377

E74 is now covered by the 3 year warranty now as its basically the same cause. You have international regulations to blame as no electronic device can now use proper lead based solder.
Also these days its pretty cheap to replace your xbox. The arcade is the cheapest console out there and will accept your old harddrive.

I had E 74 about a year ago and I had it repaired for free.

definately get it fixed though, you'll just void your warranty trying to fix it
