As the first thread, I'd kindly like to separate which one of you I am going to distastefully shun by the end of the day. I'm starting this thread based off the battle between Resident Evil 0 - Resident Evil 3 vs Resident Evil 4 - Resident Evil 5.

What's that you ask? Why start a battle between different entries of a series? That's a good question you ask, and I shall answer.

For those are aren't hidden underneath rocks you probably know. But for those who are, how do you afford internet?

Anyway, Resident Evil 0 - 3 are survival horror games. Games with purposely bad camera angles so when you walk into the next room, or down the narrow, dark corridor you're likely to be attacked if you don't listen for the sloshy footsteps of the oncomming Zombies. I manipulated that word for a reason, and I'll explain that later. Resident Evil 0-5 actually had low ammo, and hell, maybe even scared you once or twice. I know I almost crapped my pants playing the remake of Resident Evil 1. Point in take, these four games were actual Survival Horror and the true landmarks of Resident Evil.

Resident Evil 4 - 5. This is when I believe Capcom began running into some huge drug problems. Okay okay, I know the backstory, the T-Virus has evolved from a Virus to a full grown parasite. Fine. I'll deal with that subtle annoyance. However, one thing I did not understand about evolution is, why would evolution change the way an organism is? I mean, the T-Virus was supposed to reanimate dead cells, now it reanimates dead cells and does even more? What the hell is that? No, you cannot change the lifeline of Resident Evil like that, now they don't even resemble Zombies.This is what I was trying to get at, they took out what made Resident Evil scary. They added a over the shoulder camera because Gears Of War did it. They made ammo plentiful because they thought you needed it. These two games infuriate me to a cold, hearted sloshy core.

Bottom line is, actually Resident Evil 4 - 5 were good games, and I have played them both. However, they DO NOT deserve the Resident Evil title in their name. They needed to be called something else.

By the way, the point of this topic is to either, post your opinion, or flame my opinion. Now...go!

I agree with you on everything but the camera. I would really like to see the series remade with the current camera, lowered ammo, and not as many "Infected" on the screen. I want zombies back. I remember playing RE2 at my friends house when I was about 9 and I would be so disturbed and horrifed at the death scenes of zombies eating your character, that I would have to check to see if anything was in the shower before I got in. I would never go down the hallways when it was dark, and I remember thinking every noise was a zombie shuffling around my house. They've totally ruined the scare-factor of the series. RE4 was a little scary, yes.. but RE5 was as scary as a blade of grass. I really wish they would just start over with a reboot or something.

Va game master...your deeply mistaken. For one the T-virus hasnt been back for a while. Resident Evil 4 consisted of Las Plagas. This is completly diffrent from the T-virus. Las Plagas is a parasite, which lives with the host. That explains why the ganados act normal. Las Plaga is under control by a master plaga... which consist of Lord Saddler, Salazar, and the Big Cheese.

T- virus is completly diffrent. What it does is reanimate the host, it dosent live with them. The virus takes over a human and reanimates the body. That explains why ganados and zombies are diffrent

REsident Evil 5 consister of Las Plagas Type 2. Unlike the ones in resdent evil 4, they can live in the light. Ever seen a plaga in the sunlight in resident evil 4...exactly

Uroboros is the main virus in 5. It was a strain of the Progenitor Virus, which is where the tvirus came from. Wesker created Uroboros and wanted to spreak it across the world. Only a few with the select genes and dna would be able to take the host.

Plus these games do deserve the title....Resident evil 4 and 5 both carried some of the important characters and ended their story. Chris defeated Wesker, which ended the whole STARS vs Wesker story. Leon survived raccon city and became a government agent. He was sent to spain to find the presidents daughter and retrieve her home. That was the end of their story , for Leon and Chris.

And Resident Evil is not about zombies, its about viruses and parasite. The zombie thing was just what happens when you get infected.

Survival Horror does not always mean you by yourself. Number 5, you and Sheva are by yourselves abandon by the BSAA. Its just you two now, stuck fighting whatever hellish creations were mad. Number 4, leon had no support except for in the end. It was mainly him...He went through regenators, ganados, "It", salazar and his right and left hands. Thats more than enough horror for me.

Chris and Sheva went against wesker. A now superhuman...against las plagas type 2, the spider like boss, uroborors that came from Excella, and lickers. Thats more than enough horror.

Horror is not always meant to scare you.

Dont say they added over the camera shoulder because of gears..Resident Evil came out in 2005 gears came out in 2006. They put over the camera into Resident Evil 5 then since it worked well. So if anything, gears of war copied Resident Evil 4.

No , Im assuming that when you played Resident Evil, you were a kid. Okay of course stuff like that is gonna scare you. I gurantee if you would of played Resident Evil 5 when you were a kid, it would of scared you.

Play resident evil 0-3 now, and I gurantee you its not scary.


Lets get someone who never play Resident Evil at all and have them play number 1, and ask them if its scary. Let them be mature to not some kid, and and see what happens.

You said 5 felt like rambo, are you serious. You telling me your by yourself in number 1 mostly, killing bosses and zombies and other creatures like this alone!!. That is not rambo...But two people fighting the same thing is rambo...

Also, the voice acting in all of the older resident evil games are the definition of horrifying.

Since when did you see reanimated people get longer tonguess, cry for no reason,grow big as$ muscles, jump way higher, and grow fat and throw up on command. Never

Also in-game there called Special INFECTED for a reason. For common zombies, there easily human, the virus seems to be taking some effect on them. Such as taking away the nervous system, which is why they dont seem to react to gunshots. Probably killing them slowly, since some times you can see them writhing in pain and vomiting.

If you try to say why is there blood on them. Maybe their flesh is slowly eating away or the virus is making them vomit blood. T

If they were zombies, they wouldnt be like that.

The main point here is about the fact how the Resident Evil/Biohazard series has suddenly strayed off from the whole "Survival Horror" concept for a more action packed shooter game.

Thank you. It has gone off the deep end with "trying" to be action packed. Believe me, you put in narrow corridors, limited ammo, darkness, and zombies. You got a TRUE Resident evil game. I would keep the camera though. I think it works just fine.
