Icewind Dale 2 Cheat not working!

When I use the cheats for Icewind Dale 2 it doesnt work. I've used the same cheat system before, I have BG II and it's basically the same. When I activate the cheats and then go into the game and hit ctrl tab I get the cheat window like I'm supposed to but when I put in a cheat and close window I receive a message that says, "Nice try cheater"? What am I doing wrong?

were there any patches that u downloaded for the game if u did that could be the reason!

haha cool never happened to me.
well in BG 2 you have to edit the baldursgate.ini document
but not in icewind dale 2, go to the icewind dale 2 configuration setup, and turn cheat mode on,
then start the game press ctrl-tab and star ttyping the cheats in
