Microsoft Announces Platinum Hits

Microsoft will begin a program of low-priced re-releases for popular Xbox games today, according to an announcement released by the publisher. The "Platinum Hits" series gives Xbox titles that have seen success in their initial runs a chance for a second look from the public, reducing their price to $19.99. The initial series of Platinum Hits titles is as follows:

Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding
Blood Wake
James Bond 007 in ... Agent Under Fire
Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex
Max Payne
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee
Project Gotham Racing
RalliSport Challenge
Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams
The Simpsons Road Rage
SpyHunter
SSX Tricky
Star Wars: Starfighter Special Edition
Star Wars: Obi-Wan
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
Wreckless: The Yakuza Missions
Subsequent additions to the series must be available on the market for nine months before seeing induction, and must also garner "positive consumer and editorial feedback" for consideration. Look forward to more Xbox games dropping in price soon -- Microsoft plans to add titles to the series on an ongoing basis.
