MAC OS 10/UNIX opp sys prob, HELP ME!!

I live in Maine where they have allready started the laptop iniciative program thing, and they gave us Macs, so that's the only reason i have on, k?

Well, the laptops have Mac OS 10 as an opp sys and there is this rumor going around that u can access the Unix bace by holding down sum keys at startup. If u have any info on this, plz contact me! Thanx:ganja:

lol, i own a mac I-Pod with OS10 Jaguar!..bloody fast!..anyway..erm..i have never heard of any of these shortcuts to that..i will look for them and then try to get back to you!

Im not sure of the shortcuts you talk about. As i run linux (a unix clone) the only thing i can guess is that the mac uses a system called grub to load OSX try pressing tab at boot and see if any options appear. of course you can just use Fink to port apps over from linux or dual boot with linux. as for macs not being good i have to disagree. They are great for high end graphics and web design. perhaps not so much for games but this is improving. look around and you will see quake 3 for mac. Dont discount a mac just cause its different as you will find that using it is very much like windows (after all microsoft nicked the windows look from mac OS in the first place !)
