Post -=BMX XXX - Mini Strategy Guide=-

BASICS:

Jumping
Press the A button (or X on PS2) to jump.

To get maximum height and distance in a half pipe or ramp, press and hold A to accelerate as you're approaching. Release A when your front wheel immediately clears the top of the ramp or hill. Think of the top of the ramp as a springboard. Practice this technique to perfect it and watch how high you can fly.

To jump out of a halfpipe or pool ramp, hold Forward on the ****og stick, or press UP on the D pad to launch yourself out. Other ways are to grind or stall by pressing the Y button and any direction.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Landing
You just launched yourself off a quarter ramp: you're in mid-air and your bike is about to land at a disastrous angle. Press Y to do a grind/stall if you're near an edge, or perform a Fast Plant (see 'Wallrides, Taps, and Fast Plants') to prevent yourself from biting it: great advice to get you out of most potential landing tragedies.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maneuvering
Riding can get tricky. The rider tends to pedal forward at all times at top speed, opposed to accelerating to reach top speed. The rider also has a tendency to not want to stop. Before you know it, you're running into walls and going the wrong way.

Hold back on the ****og stick or press DOWN on the D pad to slow DOWN. Hold (DOWN+RIGHT) or (DOWN+LEFT) on the ****og stick or D pad and correlating trigger to perform a Skid [(DOWN+RIGHT) and R Trigger OR Shoulder Button].

There will be times when you start to ride backwards. It's annoying. Either tap A to jump out of it, or stop, and turn around.

We orefer the D pad over the ****og stick. When it comes to performing different tricks, it's much more precise.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spins
Use the L and R triggers (or shoulder buttons) to perform quicker spins. Spins can also be performed if you begin an aerial by pressing X and a direction, then holding that direction. The longer you hold the button, the more spin you'll get: from 180 degrees, to 360, to even as high as 1260 degrees and beyond (Extreme). Release the D pad or ****og stick to stop spinning.

If you're about to land on even ground at an askew angle, give the appropriate Trigger a tap to adjust. Otherwise, you're going to bite it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Modifiers
Press the modify button and a direction in conjunction with any aerial, grind, etc., and you will perform a Modified Trick. For instance, while in a Smith Grind, press RIGHT, then the modifier button. Now it's become a One Handed Smith Grind. Cake.

Modifiers are the easiest way to rack UP sick, high-point maneuvers and combos.

Combine two different directions to combine Modifiers. For example (We'll use the Xbox version for this demonstration, but it applies to all):

(DOWN+LEFT) + (DOWN+RIGHT) + B = Nothing Modify
DOWN + DOWN + B = Barspin to Barspin Back
Hold DOWN + B = Double/Triple/Quad Barspin
RIGHT + (DOWN+RIGHT) + B = Suicide Clapper
RIGHT + DOWN + B = Busdriver
RIGHT + RIGHT + B = Switch Hander
RIGHT + (UP+RIGHT) + B = One Handed Seat Grab
RIGHT + UP + B = One Handed X UP
LEFT + LEFT + B = Switch Footer
LEFT + DOWN + B = One Footed Barspin
LEFT + UP + B = One Footed X UP
...and so on.

Flatland Tricks

Flatland Tricks are executed from Manuals (press UP then DOWN) or Nose Wheelies (press DOWN then UP) by pressing any direction and the X button. Holding DOWN the X button will continue the Trick until you release X again.

Like the Modifies, combining two different directions creates different moves. For example:

From a Manual
RIGHT + RIGHT + X = Death Truck
LEFT + LEFT + X = Undertaker

From a Nose Wheelie
RIGHT + RIGHT + X = Hitchhiker Tailwhip
(UP+RIGHT) + (UP+RIGHT) + X = Barride

You can also Modify (see 'Modifies') your Flatland Tricks. Punch B and any direction with the Flatland Trick and there's a motherload of combos and points to rack UP. When a Challenge calls for a 15 - 30 combo trick, Modified Flatland Tricks are the way to go. The faster you perform the tricks, the more you'll do. Stay balanced.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aerials
Get lots of height, and be prepared to do some impressive moves. Punch a direction and X while in mid air and the aerial will present itself in all its glory. Aerials by themselves won't grab you a ton of points, but they definitely make your bow ties spin, and steam shoot out of your eyes, that's for sure.

Combine different directions on the D pad or ****og Stick to get different moves.

LEFT + LEFT + X = Un-TurnDOWN
LEFT + (LEFT+DOWN) + X = Decade
(LEFT+DOWN) + (LEFT+DOWN) + X = Candy Bar Backflip
LEFT + DOWN + X = TurnDOWN Backflip
DOWN + DOWN + X = Double Backflip
DOWN + (DOWN+RIGHT) + X = Tailwhip Backflip
(DOWN+RIGHT) + (DOWN+RIGHT) + X = Double Tailwhip
DOWN + RIGHT + X = Can Can Backflip
DOWN + (DOWN+RIGHT) + X = Can Can Tailwhip
UP + UP + X = Front Flip
and so on?

Grinding and Stalling
To initiate a Grind, press Y (or TRIANGLE on the PS2) in the air and any direction before landing on an edge. For a Stall, press the same combination of buttons, yet make certain to not travel at such high speeds as you would for a Grind.

Grinding and Stalling your Bike on an edge is a perfect way to collect the points, or rack UP the moves. Find a pool ramp with a gap in the edges to continuously grind along. At the gap, jump, throw in a Modify (see 'Modifies') or a Spin (see 'Spins') then land back into a Grind, and you could go on forever racking UP points this way. It's great advice when you need to reach those point totals in each Level.

Grinding is also a great way to pick UP speed for those stubborn jumps that span great distances. Find walls or objects, like benches or rails, to grind that set you UP for the leap.

While in a Grind, let's say you're losing your balance to the RIGHT, and you need to make that Grind Transfer. When you do finally Transfer, press Y and LEFT opposed to Y and RIGHT to regain the Grind, so you can compensate for the imbalance.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wallrides, Taps, and Fast Plants
Contrary to what the game manual tells you, perform a Wallride by pressing UP and the A button while in a jump -- not UP and X. Make certain you're near a wall or something tall and UPRIGHT.

Fast Plants are the same, except press LEFT and A (or X for PS2). For Wall Taps press RIGHT and A (again, X on PS2).

These can get you out of trouble if you're landing all weird, and disastrous. Make sure you practice these religiously, especially your Wallrides. There are plenty of spots in levels that are just too high to reach with conventional means. Get speed and use your Wallride to jump your way UP to that lonely, desolate ledge.

CHALLENGES:

There are 6 levels. Each level consists of 20 challenges. There are three challenges that are consistent for each level:

> 3 point-oriented challenges (The point values increase exponentially as the levels get HARDER)
> Clearing all 20 "Gaps"
> Collecting 45 items throughout the level in one run (These last two challenges, once completed, give you your coveted SCORES videos. They're viewable in the Acclaim Extras Menu, NOT the SCORES Bouncer in the Bronx.)

The other challenges, generally, look like this:

> Skill Challenges from fellow riders that consist of completing a specific trick
> Object Collecting challenges(Object Collecting or Delivery Challenges always have a green arrow specifying where you need to deliver the goods.)
> Landing combo tricks
> Grind challenges. Dragging or carrying a character while earning a specific amount of points
> FMA-Feature Challenges that open UP more areas in the level once completed.

To unlock the next level, compete 10 of the 20 Challenges. Completing Challenges in the later levels opens UP more costumes in the Rider Editor. When you complete every Challenge in every level, you unlock the Amish Boy rider and the Final Movie.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gaps
If you're wondering what these gems are, you're not alone. Gaps, put simply, are any place in the level where there's an opening or space between two structures. Typically, Gaps are two ramps, side by side, with no space between them. Sometimes, a low wall dividing a ramp counts as a Gap. Other times, two ramps separated by height, qualifies as one. Some of the Challenges demand you to clear Gaps, so you get a better idea of what they look like.

To jump a Gap, you must successfully clear the space from structure to structure, ramp to ramp, grind-pole to grind-pole, or whatever applies, without bailing in between. YOU MUST LAND.

There are 20 Gaps in each level. WHOA, tiger. Don't go looking for them all just yet. Complete a majority of the challenges before you tackle this feat. Some gaps don't show themselves until some completed challenges reveal more of the course. Once you clear all 20 in each level, you obtain a SCORES video. In other words: boobs.

Have you cleared a number of Gaps and still have a handful remaining? The problem is the game doesn't provide us with a checklist of Gaps you cleared. Where are the rest? These are so difficult to find. I don't know about you but I went crazy. I really did.

Here are the locations of some of the trickiest-to-find Gaps in each level. Ready?

The Bronx, NYC

1. From the Starting Point, ride forward and immediately jump off the ledge, jumping past two flights of stairs to the bottom landing.
2. From the Starting Point, ride forward to the small half pipe below. Transfer from the half pipe to the Grind Pole in the Overpass directly opposite of the half pipe.
3. Find the flight of stairs leading to the Train Tracks, closest to the Street Intersection. From the Middle Landing, jump off the back corner, towards the Park, and OVER the Telephone Wires.
4. In the Park, on the Blue Building, in the back where the dirt mounds are, grind from the yellow beam to the blue ledge.

The Dam

1. At the top of the generator's Spark Plug, Grind Transfer the gap in the Perpendicular SUPport Wire (see 'Levels - The Dam - How do you grind the top of the Spark Plug' for a better description of the general area).
2. In the Generator Building, on the Ground Level, Grind Transfer from the handrail of the stairs leading UP to the handrail of the stairs leading DOWN from the First Level. Clear this gap for both staircases.
3. After you drained the Lake, Transfer from the Quarter Ramp with the Eagle Statue on the UPper Dam Ledge to the Quarter Ramp below.
4. On the top of the set of smaller Transformers near the Dam, where you talk to La'Tey, Transfer from the End Halfpipe to the Curved Metal Wires directly to the LEFT.

Sheep Hills

1. Get to the Fountain area in the Mall. Wallride UP to the last Blue and White Striped Awning near the ATM. Grind Transfer to the concrete benches below.
2. In between the Donut Shoppe and Del Bell is a sign with an arrow pointing UP. Wallride UP to the arrow, start grinding, then Grind Transfer from the Sign Arrow to the Handrail outside Del Bell.
3. At the end of the narrow Curved Alleyway leading from the Drainage Ditch Park to the Fountain area is a Blue Glass Awning. On the wall below the Awning is a sloped edge. Grind Transfer from the sloped edge to the Awning.

Syracuse

1. Transfer from the Highway Side Wallramp, over the Highway Sign, to the other Wallramp. From the Starting Point, gain speed by heading DOWN the stairs to the Highway, keeping speed, then simply jump and transfer.
2. Grind Transfer from bench to bench in front of the Pub and the Sports Lounge.
3. Transfer from snow bank to snow bank at the end of the Highway below the TV Antenna.

Las Vegas

1. Grind along the White Beam that runs parallel to the Wedding Yacht. Grind Transfer to the Race Track Barrier.
2. At the Entrance to SCORES Las Vegas, next to the Inflated SCORES Stripper (or where it used to be), Grind DOWN the Handrail on the RIGHT, follow the grind as you break through the glass and follow the edge of the halfpipe. Before the beam angles to the RIGHT, make a Grind Transfer to the Handrail on the lower ramp.
3. In the Dungeon Park, get height from either halfpipe and grind the rope towards the Drawbridge. Grind Transfer across the Gap.

Launch Pad 69

1. In the area near the Red Cage holding the Space Monkeys, transfer from the Quarter Ramp against the back wall to a grind on the row of Ground Cages, NOT to the halfpipe above.
2. Near the Hippie Protester, there's a Wooden Gate Arm pointed UP. Grind Transfer from the Wire above to the Gate Arm.

If you have any more problems with Gaps, turn on Visible Gap Mode by entering PARABOLIC in the cheat codes. It helps so much, it makes my bottom tingle. Beware that some Gap Markers DO NOT show the correct 'flight path', if you will.

HEALTH METER
All Levels, except the competitions, aren't timed -- you get a Health Meter. Each time you bite it, a little health goes DOWN. The farther you fall, the harder you feel it. If you fall into water, no health is taken away.

Once you complete a Challenge, some health is recovered and added back to your Health Meter. It's good to know, especially if you're aiming to collect all 45 items, or all four Bike Parts, and you're running on fumes. Note: You receive health from completing Challenges only if the Challenge had not been completed before.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BIKE PARTS
Each level has 4 Bike Parts. Collect 6 of the different parts and you get a new bike that boosts your attributes. There are 24 total Bike Parts, and 4 Bikes to obtain, total, for each Character. Here are the locations for each Bike Part in every level:

The Bronx, NYC

1. Grind the wire where the shoes are strung over. A Fork is located along the last stretch, closest to the Train Tracks.
2. Drain the pool by completing the Roof Switch Wall Tap Challenge. Handlebars are in the pool.
3. Once the pool is drained, make your way back to the Burnt-Out Building. Make your way to the roof by transferring from the lower Red Ramp to the UPper Red Ramp, or by jumping from the Covered Ramp to the Fire Escape. Get to the lower roof. In the center is a burnt out portion of the building. Drop into this portion. Grind the fallen beam to the Wheel.
4. From the top of the Burnt-Out Building, the lower roof, grind over to the Train Tracks. Continue along the tracks to the Blue Building at the Street Intersection. Jump to the Blue Building's Fire Escape that runs parallel with the Train Tracks. Grind along the Fire Escape's ledge, then Grind Transfer to the next Fire Escape behind the building. Cranks are at the very end.

The Dam

1. Approach the Quarter Ramp with the Eagle Statue perched on top from the Starting Point. Grind the edge of the ramp towards the 3 wires cascading DOWN over the water, towards the Generator Building. Grind Transfer to the wire on the far RIGHT. Make the Gap in the middle, and retrieve a Wheel.
2. From the same position at the Quarter Ramp with the Eagle Statue, jump the concrete wall towards the Drained Pool. Grind the beam to the end. Handlebars are reachable with a quick jump off the beam.
3. After completing the Pyro's Challenge, enter the Warehouse. Grind along the Black and Yellow Perimeter Beam. A Fork is located between the pool and the largest opening.
4. When you attempt the Spark Plug Challenge in the Generator Building, you Grind along the very top sUPporting wire of the Spark Plug. Make the Gap in the middle of the SUPport Rings and you will obtain a Bike Seat.

Sheep Hills

1. From the roof of the Pink Donut Shoppe, Grind the Flagline leading to the Del Bell. Halfway on the Flagline is a Wheel.
2. After deflating the Humping Sheep, from the Del Bell roof, Grind the Flagline leading towards the Balloon Sheep Carcasses. Grind Transfer to the RIGHT along the Sheep and pick UP the Crank..
3. After giving the donuts to the Mall Security Guard, pedal to the Drainage Ditch where the Donut is rolling around. Make the jump to grab the Wheel, high in the air, RIGHT in front of the circular Ditch.
4. As you complete the Grind Transfer from the Middle Awning in the Mall, to the Fountain edge, there is a Seat halfway through your leap for the Grind Transfer.

Syracuse

1. Grind between the two Highway Signs. In between the leap for the Grind Transfer is a Fork.
2. Behind the Dog and Bone Brew Pub is Big Air Square. To get here, use the Connecter that cuts through the building. Once out of the Connector, face LEFT. Along the wall, in the far RIGHT corner are a set of four Quarter Ramps. Halfway between these four ramps is a vertical Brick Divider. Transfer between the second and the third Quarter Ramps to snag the Wheel on top of the Brick Divider.
3. From the same Connector, turn RIGHT, and pedal your way UP the stairs, to the end of the straightaway. You should see a gap through the wall and the Handlebars are visible near the Green Ledge. Fall to the ground below. Use the ramp below the Handlebars to get enough height to reach them.
4. In the Abandoned Building, a Crank floats in front of an Orange Post with a small island of concrete attached. When you enter the Abandoned Building, stop, then face the entrance. Use the RIGHT ****og stick to look UP and slightly to the LEFT. There's your Bike Part. Utilize the ramp below the Orange Post to obtain it. Or, go to the Second Orange Post to the LEFT, use the ramp, then Grind on the concrete edge, Grind Transfer to the wire, and then to the Orange Post. Wall tap if you must.

Las Vegas

1. Go to the roof of SCORES Las Vegas, there's a Wheel near one of the Blue Pool Ramps.
2. Go to the Middle Dock with boats on either side. Grind transfer from the Handrail at the very end of the Dock to the rail on the Blue Yacht; they run parallel. A Fork is located in between the dock and the yacht.
3. After finding the claim check, and picking UP the cake, a Red Halfpipe will appear on the Wedding Yacht. A Wheel is in the halfpipe.
4. Open the Dungeon Park by completing the 360 Backflip Challenge. Make your way to the first cannon. Grind Transfer from the cannon out to the concrete pedestal to obtain the Bike Seat.

Launch Pad 69

1. Grind the wire between the two golden elevated launch sirens, closest to the Hangar. Halfway in your Grind, you'll pick UP a Fork.
2. In the Rocket Sled Ramp, between the Thrusters and the Wind Sock, you'll find a Wheel.
3. After you explode the Rocket, get height in the First Rocket Segment Halfpipe (closest to the entrance to Mission Control). There is a Seat in the air at the far end of the Segment.
4. Grind the Fuel Line Beam in its entirety around the Rocket. Cranks are found on one of the corners.

Walkthrough: Bronx, NYC

Da Bronx: your first level. Take my hand, look both ways, and let's get through this together.

Complete Challenge List

Collect 10 cans within the time limit.
Walltap or fastplant the three roof switches.
Grind the two electric wires above the Pimp's car
Use the leafblower to jump start Homeless Jone's cardboard plane.
Destroy the other three food carts.
Get the poodle, score 20,000 points, then introduce the dogs.
Collect all 5 coins on the way to the park and bribe the bouncer in front of Scores.
Ghost ride your bike into the fruit booter.
Transfer over the rider to pull the dead end gap.
Pull a wallride to tailwhip anywhere.
Skitch any police car anywhere. Hang on for at least 5 seconds.
Get 40 feet of air in the pool.
Grind the 5 pair of sneakers.
Land a 5 combo trick.
Deliver the hookers to Fifi's Hotel.
Collect all 45 coins in one run.
Find and pull all 20 gaps in the level.
Score 150,000 in one run.
Score 300,000 in one run.
Score 600,000 in one run.
Q: How do I Wallride and pull a Tailwhip at the same time?
Locate the rider at the top of the Burnt Out Building. You'll see two billboards that give you enough height to perform the move. If you're still stuck, there's another suitable, safer location in an alleyway between the Burnt Out Building and the Starting Point Platform. Start from the top of the Alley's slope to get more height when you Wallride the wall to your RIGHT.

Wallride = UP + B
Tailwhip = (DOWN+RIGHT) + X

Q: What's a Fruit Booter? HELP!
Do you hear the whiney kid in the Park? Do you see him skating around with his helmet on, screaming for his mommy? You found your Fruit Booter. Think about it. Slow DOWN RIGHT in front of him, center him UP, then pull both triggers simultaneously to Ghost Ride. Mow that kid DOWN!

Q: Where are the five sneakers?
Near the pool in the park, there's a Green and White Building next to a Bathroom Structure. Get on the roof of the Bathroom Structure by riding UP the staircase to the roof of the Green and White Building, located in the back near the Dirt Jumps, and jumping over to the roof of the Bathroom Structure. There's a wire on connected to the edge of the roof and spans the entire park to the Train Tracks. Grind this wire in its entirety, bearing straight or forward the entire grind. All the sneakers are hanging off this wire.

Q: What do I do with this poodle?
Uhhh, should you be asking such a question? Ew. Get the Pimp's Poodle, score 20,000 points without falling, and deliver the Poodle to the crapping dog in the Park.

Q: How do I transfer over the rider to pull the dead end gap?
Build UP speed by holding the A button. As you approach one of the red ramps, start aiming towards the other red ramp, release A, continue holding DOWN the D pad or ****og stick in the direction of the other red ramp, and you should get enough height and distance to make the transfer. If not, go find the other Bike Parts to get another Bike (see 'Bike Parts').

Q: Where is the Leaf Blower to start the cardboard plane?
It's located in front of Fifi's Hotel, the same area where you deliver the Hookers, NOT in the park near the Gardener. Hurry you don't have much time.

Walkthrough: The Dam

Complete Challenge List

Collect 4 TNT Sticks and bring them to the Pyro.
Grind past the 4 switches to drain the lake.
The Dam has cracks! Run into any 2 cracks to patch it UP.
Grind across the very top of the generator's giant spark plug.
Score 30,000 points while pushing around the sh*t box.
Wallride the TWO c**** switches inside the generator building.
Manual 150 feet on the skinny Dam wall.
Give the chicken sh*t bungee jumper a push.
Destory 3 oxygen tanks. Ghost ride bike into them to be cool.
Do flatland tricks for 5 seconds nonstop.
Jump over the moving crane arm.
Wallride over the entire row of sh*t boxes.
Gap over the bridge leading to the generator building. Work the c**** half pipe to get enough air.
Land a 10 trick combo.
Deliver the Gassy Construction Workers to the row of sh*t boxes.
Collect all 45 lunchboxes in one run.
Find and pull all 20 gaps in the level.
Score 150,000 in one run.
Score 300,000 in one run.
Score 600,000 in one run.
Q: Where are the 4 switches to drain the lake?
Grind the outside of the cement wall that separates the pool to be drained and the water with the Small Boat and the Dock. You'll pick UP two switches along this outside edge, c***** to the boat and dock (don't forget to jump over the barrier and complete the rest of the grind). The other switches are on the Cement Utility Dock to the LEFT of the Small Boat and Dock. Grind along the wires connected to the Small Boat and keep grinding until you Grind past the Switch along the inclined concrete ramp. Quickly, jump out of the grind, reverse direction, and Grind along the cement edge towards the Warehouse (not the Small Boat). You'll switch the last Switch along the edge of the circular end of the Cement Utility Dock.

Q: How do I ride over the entire row of sh*t boxes?
Actually this Challenge does not ask you to wallride OVER the row of potties; the small ramp directly in front of them is completely misleading. Simply wallride ON each potty door, and it doesn't have to be all at one time.

Q: Where's that last Gassy Construction Worker?
Start this Challenge with the Construction Worker on the Cement Utility Dock, by the Small Boat and Dock. He's standing on the farthest circular joiner, Grind both Boat Ropes to get there. The rest should be easy. There's one near the Starting Point, one in between the ramps on the side of the Warehouse, one in front of the Generator Building, and one near the Crane and Dumptruck. Don't fall or land in the water!

Q: How do I give the bungee jumper a push?
Get to the top of the Eagle Statue Structure by using either ramp. Grinding it's edge towards the Quarter Ramp on top and at the very end. Use this Quarter Ramp to get speed by launching yourself UP in the air. You will turn directions towards the small ramp to the Eagle Statue. Use this small ramp to jump on top of the Eagle Statue where the Bungee Jumper stands, nervously looking DOWN. Now give him a little love tap by running into him. Do not jump too high or far or you'll go sailing over him.

Q: How do I grind the very top of the generator's spark plug?!
Get to the 3rd Level of the Generator Building using the stairs, or ramps, whichever is fastest for you. Jump over the Red Spine Jumps then Grind on the metal handrail. You will turn the corner, and Grind Transfer to the Perpendicular SUPport. Quickly Grind Transfer to the Parallel SUPport Wire and it will take you overtop of the Spark Plug.

Q: How do I get that elusive Lunchbox above the entrance to the Generator Building?!
You must get to the top of the Quarter Ramp with the Eagle Statue and grind along its LEFT edge, then Grind Transfer to the wire on the LEFT. Therefore, you must approach the side of the Quarter Ramp closest to where the rider is perched on the ledge. Grind Transfer, between the Gaps in the wire, over the water below, so you're eventually grinding near the face of the Generator Building. Make sure you make that jump to snag the Lunchbox. Try a Fast Plant on the side of the Generator Building to make certain you get it - you shouldn't have to.

Q: How do I Pull a 540 SUPerman off the Flag Float?
This one's slightly tricky. Prepare to practice. First you need to locate the float. Look directly behind TripleDub. That's the one.

Now, build UP enough speed by cycling while holding the A button. Approach the ramp. Once you launch off the end of the float (by releasing the A button - see 'Jumping'), IMMEDIATELY start your spin with your Trigger (or shoulder button), THEN press (UP-RIGHT) and X (SQUARE on PS2). You do not need to hold the SUPerman throughout the entire leap. You may let go of (UP-RIGHT) and X (SQUARE) once you reach an approximate spin of 270 degrees. Any less and the jump won't count.

Q: How do I score 20,000 points in the drainage ditch?
Bust an aerial, to a Modified Grind along the edge then fall IN towards the center of the Drainage Ditch. If you jump out the points won't count.

Q: Where is the Roof Drop Gap and how do I get to it?
The Roof Drop Gap is at the very end, at the highest point of the sloped concrete behemoth in the center of the level. You can't miss it, it's directly between the Flag Float and the Drainage Ditch Park.

The best way to get UP to the Roof Drop Gap is to get on the roof of the Donut Shoppe - you can't miss that either, it's the bRIGHT pink building. Once you're on the roof, face the Roof Drop Gap. On the LEFT Corner of the Donut Shoppe is a Flag line that leads to the concrete behemoth. Grind on the Flag line with much speed. In the middle you must perform a Grind Transfer to another Flag line. They appear to be a continuous row of flags but don't be fooled. When you Grind Transfer to this other Flag line, get lots of height on your jump to gain even more speed.

With all the speed you were able to manage, you should be able to reach the top. If you're still running low, press forward and jump to the cement edge, and perform a Stall.

Now all you must do is take the leap of faith over the elevated edge and hope for the best. You'll land it, don't worry. Perhaps pull a 900 while you're at it.

Q: I don't have enough time to deliver the midget clowns, what do I do?
You are able to have all 5 Midget Clowns on your Bike at once. Start with the Clown near the Drainage Ditch where you had to score 20,000 points. Next, through the curved alleyway, ride to the clowns in the Mall near the Fountain and the two spine jumps. After you drop them off, get the Midget Clown directly next to the car. Finally snag the Clown near the tree, by the Shooting Star and Flag Floats. You should have completed a loop of the entire course once you get to the final Clown.

Q: Where's the roman candle and how do I shoot it?
You must complete the Bully Challenge by talking to one of the riders before you are able to snag the roman candle. Remember where the bully was? It's in the exact same spot: ride to the middle of the Drainage Ditch Park, on top of the smallest ramps, in the middle.

Aim the weapon using your RIGHT ****og stick. Press A or B to shoot. To do any harm, you need to position yourself close enough to your target. Watch what happens when you shoot the other people.

Q: What store sign must I shoot out?
"SCHULINT". It's near the Drainage Ditch Park, and you can see it from the Starting Point. Take a wild guess which 4 letters you shoot out.

Q: Where's the best spot to pull a 100 foot Wallride?
There are plenty of large walls positioned near ramps that are very suitable, especially in the narrow alleyway connecting the Drainage Ditch Park to the Fountain in the mall. My favorite spot is directly underneath the 'SCHULINT" store sign. Angle yourself just RIGHT off the small ramp next to the wall, and ride it all the way DOWN to the concrete ledge. This spot works nice because it's very close to the Starting Point, there's little risk for falling and losing health, and the space below is lower than the start of the ramp so you get much more room. You know when you'll hit 100 feet when your score reaches in UPwards of 2000 points.

Q: Where are the 4 tethers and how do I get them?
Two tethers are located in the area with the halfpipe and large wall directly behind you from the Starting Point. One is located in the far RIGHT corner of the halfpipe and the other is found on the far LEFT wall, RIGHT above the small mound. Don't get these first, though.

When it comes to challenges that require you to collect objects, I start with the most time consuming, and hardest one to snag. In this case, the tether located on the Flagline between the Gas Station roof and the streetlamp is the one you should concern yourself with first.

Position yourself on the Gas Station roof by grinding the Flagline from the roof of the Donut Shoppe. Now face the streetlamp. On the far LEFT corner of the Gas Station roof is the beginning of the Flagline you should grind. The tether is located halfway.

Finally, make your way to the Shooting Star Float and grind along the star to pick UP the last tether. When you land, you are facing Little Bo Peep to make an easy delivery.

Find and pull all 20 gaps in the level.
Score 200,000 in one run.
Score 400,000 in one run.
Score 800,000 in one run.
Q: What's the best way to pull the Double Tailwhip over any spine? What's a spine?
If you watch the rider, he manages to build speed by grinding along all the edges in the Abandoned Building to any Spine, then makes his jump, gets his height, and pulls the move. Too much work if you ask me.

First let's find 'any Spine'. You've seen Spine Jumps in other levels, RIGHT? Spine Jumps are steep jumps, or objects, that do not cause you to turn direction in mid-air like a halfpipe or poolramp. Instead, they launch you straight over them. The spines, in this case, are the smaller, concrete objects with the metal jutting out of the sides, and tagged with graffiti.

Now let's find 'the best Spine'. You need lots of height, so you need lots of speed going into the jump. Locate the Spine in the far LEFT corner if you face away from the entrance to the Abandoned Building. Directly opposite of that Spine, to its LEFT, is a Quarter Ramp. Get height on this Quarter Ramp to gain speed, then turn around and launch yourself over the Spine and pull the move. I suggest practicing the Double Tailwhip until you can get it consistently.

Q: How do I score 5,000,000 points to shake the cops? Wait, wasn't it only 1,000,000?
You don't. It's used to set UP the other Challenge freeing the Pineapple Mascot since he gets locked UP by the Pigs. It must be a bug that they first ask you to get 1,000,000 points, but in the Challenge List it's 5 million.

Q: Why doesn't it snow when I ride over the steaming manholes?
Dude, who knows? You were able to locate the manholes easily, RIGHT? There are two along the street from the Weatherman to the Security Guard at his post. The other two are in the Highway below. Ride your bike DOWN the Long Staircase, take an immediate LEFT and you'll see them.

Q: How do I smash the Pineapple Rally Banner?
The Rally Banner is the purple monstrosity decorated with a goofy, smiling pineapple hanging UP near the Dog and Bone Brew Pub. Wallride the long wall near the Hot Dog Vendor, opposite of the Banner, and launch yourself over to demolish it.

OR

Start from the Security Guard's Post. Grind along the concrete wall directly opposite of the Guard's Post. You will cross over the Highway, along the UPper edge of the long grey wall, and give you easy access to do what you will with the Banner.

Q: How do I Grind Transfer between highway signs?
Watch the rider to see how she does it. Build UP speed, then launch yourself over the concrete wall at an angle to land on the edge of the highway sign. A good way to build UP speed is to Grind from bench to bench. You DO NOT grind on the tops of the signs.

Another way is to pedal your way to the street below. Approach one of the Highway Side Wallramps and deliberately crash land on the bit of concrete next to the highway sign. Make sure you stay on. You'll reappear perched on the bit of concrete. Carefully start your jump to the highway sign and begin your Grind.

Q: How do I grind all the sUPport wires holding the TV antenna?
After talking to the Security Guard at his post, make your way back to the Boy Band Buses. Approach the concrete wall the buses face, then Grind towards the First SUPport Wire. Grind Transfer from the wall to the Wire. ONLY GRIND ON THE YELLOW PORTION. Immediately let yourself fall to the Highway below.

The next SUPport Wire you should grind is in the far RIGHT corner, near the Snow Blocked Overpass in the Highway. Use the snow to launch yourself on the overpass' lower edge, then grind the SUPport Wire.

Next use the Highway Side Wallramp to reach the Highway Wall's edge. Grind the edge towards the Dog and Bone Brew Pub. Turn the corner and ride UP the Long Staircase. Approach the railing at the end of the straightaway, and leap over to Grind the Third SUPport Wire. Drop to the Brick Spine below and Grind to the Fourth SUPport Wire.

If you fail to leap over the railing on the stairs, get air using the Quarter Ramp below, Grind the Green Ledge to the Third SUPport Wire. Reaching the Third SUPport Wire is the toughest so practice before you start the Challenge. You get approximately 2 minutes.

Score 500,000 in one run.
Score 1,000,000 in one run.
Misc. Tip: Ride to the docks and look across the water, towards the search lights. The palm trees look like marijuana leaves.

Q: How do I access the Dungeon Park?
You open the Drawbridge to the Dungeon Park using a little vomit, and a lot of speed. Complete the 360 Backflip Challenge off the Boob Jump. The father will get sick from all the motion and vomit on the race track, sending the two cars into the weights holding the Drawbridge closed. The weights plummet to the ground. Your Drawbridge is now open.

Q: Where's the dungeon cage release switch?
After talking to the poor submissive gentleman in the cage at the far end of the Dungeon Park, get enough height to boost your bike UP onto the Perimeter Rope. Grind along the rope towards the Yachts. You'll see the switch at the very end.

Q: Where's the claim check? And the CAKE?
From the Wedding Yacht, pedal your way straight past the Grassy Halfpipes, across the Race Track, to the greenish building with ramps leading UP both ways to its roof. At the entrance, hovering in between the Gap is the claim check. Ride UP to the roof and grind DOWN one of edges towards the Gap at the entrance. Make the Gap then return to the building's roof. In the center, in the very back, you'll see a chef standing next to the Cake. Get the Cake and return to the Wedding Yacht.

Q: Where's this boob jump everyone's talking about?
Talk to the Mormon Missionaries, then grind along the boobs of the inflatable SCORES Stripper. To reach the boobs, get some extreme air in the nearest grassy halfpipe (where you break the glass awnings). Grind along the smashed awning edge, along the Flaglines, finally to the inflated SCORES Stripper.

Walkthrough: Launch Pad 69

Complete Challenge List

Grind the 'on' switch to activate the rocket sled.
Collide with both flying mechanics.
Get UP to and simply touch the hanging satellite.
Hit the LAUNCH button and deliver the 3 Space Monkeys.
Pull 6 different Flatland Tricks to excite the monkeys.
Pull a 360 nothing over the alien autopsy.
Grind into the 4 golden elevated launch sirens.
Grind open the 4 fuel valves that circle the rocket.
Pull the 'unauthorized gap' between hangar halfpipes.
Spear 5 aliens with the probe.
Pull three rocket air tricks underneath the rocket.
Grind free the orange-jumpsuited Space Monkeys.
Jump over 3 barrels in the hangar.
Land a 30 trick combo.
Deliver the Diapered Monkeys to the Hippie Protestor.
Collect all 45 bananas in one run.
Find and pull all 20 gaps in the level.
Score 250,000 in one run.
Score 500,000 in one run.
Score 1,000,000 in one run.
Misc. Tip: Beat 10 Challenges and unlock Guided Ghost Ride Mode.

Q: I try to break the glass in the Alien Autopsy room, but cannot do it. How do I enter the Hangar?
Talk to the mechanic at the Rocket Sled. Then grind the 'on' switch to complete the Challenge. The Rocket Sled opens an entrance to the Hangar.

Q: How do I Grind the 'on' switch?
This Challenge nearly destroyed me. First, let's locate the switch. At the back of the structure holding the Rocket Sled is a Wind Sock. Directly across from this Wind Sock, on the next platform over, is the Switch. Grind the Yellow Handrail of the stairs leading UP to the next platform until the Handrail's slope plateaus. Take the UPward momentum from the Handrail's slope, jump, and then grind the 'on' switch.

Easy, RIGHT? To benefit from the UPward momentum of the Handrail, you need speed. The best way to get speed is to grind the yellow edge of the Rocket Pool Ramp, just to the RIGHT of the Rocket. Jump out of the Grind, pedal towards the Handrail with blazing, fast speed, then jump and grind on the Handrail.

Q: I opened UP the Mission Control Room, and hit the LAUNCH button, but nothing happens! What now?
You must free the Space Monkeys first. They're the ones in the Red Cage. Grind on top of the Cage to free them. Now go back, hit the button, and go get the monkeys.

Q: I don't have enough time to deliver the Space Monkeys, what do I do!?
You can carry all the Monkeys on your Bike at the same time.

Q: 30 combo trick ?
They're getting tougher now, aren't they? Jump into a Manual, and perform Flatland tricks. By now, your balance should be great with all the Bike Parts you've collected. Perform them quite fast, so you fill in as many tricks as momentum runs out. Try Modifying some (see 'Modifies') to rack UP even more tricks in your combo. You could even grind into a Manual to boost the amount of tricks even more.

Q: I can't seem to spear the Aliens! What am I doing wrong?
You're going too fast. They like to run out of the way. Slow DOWN just a little, get them in your sights, then stick 'em.

Q: How do I collide with both flying mechanics?
The Flying Mechanics are in the Hangar. The easiest way to collide with the mechanics is to use the ramp below them. Make sure you get enough height to reach each mechanic (see 'Jumping'). They're located at both ends of the ramp.

Once you complete the Challenge, you're able to wear one of the jet packs the Flying Mechanics wear.

COMPETITIONS:

The Competitions allow you to prove yourself to the Judges by whipping out all the fancy tricks under your belt - and I mean ALL: grinds, stalls, flatland tricks, modifies, wall-taps, fast plants, wall-rides, aerials, everything. EVERYTHING. You get two runs, two minutes each. Your total score is averaged between the two runs. If you do poorly in the first run, fear not, you get a second chance.

These are very difficult without any idea of what to do. You'll try a zillion times, only to score in the high 60s or low 70s. Confidence quickly turns to frustration. Controllers will be in pieces. You'll fog UP the screen from all your screaming.

Relax. Practice. You'll get it.

Here are some tips to average in the high 80s or mid 90s, bringing you nearer to a first place, and not to mention, saving your vocal chords:

USE AS MANY DIFFERENT TRICKS AS POSSIBLE. USE THEM ALL. Perform different aerials, grinds, manuals, nose manuals, stalls, wallrides, and throw in some fast plants and wall taps too. Use the D-Pad when you choose a direction for a maneuver: it's more precise.
Points don't necessarily reflect how well you're doing. It's simple to score many points by setting UP only a string of grinds, but that is precisely not what you're here to do. Resist the temptation. Yet, with all the tricks you'll be bustin', your scores should be over 100,000 for each run.
DON'T FALL OFTEN. It won't directly hurt your score. However, the more time spent flailing on the ground means the less time busting tricks, which indirectly hurts your score.
Since you don't want to fall, don't bother with blockbuster aerial combos. There's no need for the 900 Decade to a Bar-Spin SUPerman to a fakie type of combo. Don't push it that far. Instead, attempt the aerial, to a modify, to a grind, or to a stall type of combo.
Waste little time. If you find yourself cycling through the course trying to find the next ramp, fill UP that time with, perhaps, flatland tricks
It's not crucial to use the entire course, but use most of it. Definitely make sure you don't concentrate on just one area. Vary it UP.
If you're lacking serious points or moves and time's running out, start a grind, stall, or a series of flatland tricks and the game will still add these points even after time's expired. I highly recommend capitalizing on this feature. Keep the moves going as long as possible.
MODIFY, MODIFY, MODIFY. Smash that button. When you start a series of grinds, modify each one. Modify your wall rides, and wall taps. Modify your flatland tricks. Even adding just a simple "one hand" modify can double the score and count as a new trick. Also, spend some time catching big air, and performing a series of Modifies in rapid succession. Aim for 3 - 4 modifies for each big air you catch.
After the first run, don't get discouraged if another rider scored 96 and you scored 88, putting you in 4th place. Sometimes that rider will follow UP a flawless run with a dismal one.
If you can't place first just yet, don't worry. Collect more Bike Parts in the other levels, get a better bike so you can increase your skills, and come back.
See? It's not so bad.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TOPLESS RIDER MODE:

Now that you've placed 1st in both Competitions, you unlocked the Topless Rider Mode (provided you're playing the Xbox or GameCube version). Access this mode in the Acclaim Extras menu. Select Special Modes. Turn on the Topless Rider Mode. Once it's activated, select any character in the Rider Editor, select Style, then highlight the character's shirt. Highlight the selection, 'Almost Nude', then scroll through the choices, pressing RIGHT or LEFT, until the character is topless. Voila, boobs. It's what you've been waiting for RIGHT? Don't forget the two new SCORES videos either. These are viewable in the Acclaim Extras menu also, NOT by talking to the SCORES Bouncer in the Bronx.

I hope this has/will come in useful to you:tup:

Enjoy!
