• Easier way to get to Animal Village

If you have trouble getting to Animal village but have already been there make sure you get to the portal. When you go throught the portal you will go to one of the other areas that have portals. If you keep doing that you can go back to Mabe Village easier and Animal Village too. This is also a good idea so you dont have to take Marin so far. | [Sent by Ryan]

• Get to the nightmare room on level two

Go to the room were there are loads of bottles, two bunnys and a red mole. Kill the first bunny there is when you go in then kill the other bunny then the red mole .A new passege should come up. | [Sent by JoeB]

• Getting Rupees

Go the machine prizes are,where you get the Yoshie doll, keep getting the rupees from the crane and you will get a really good amout of rupees. You have to know when the right timing is to win much. | [Sent by Ryan]

• How to Make a Missile

To build a missile, place the arrows in one hand and bombs in the other. To fire, press A + B simultaneously.

• Level 2

After you get the Nightmares key in Botto Grotto, you have to go to the Genie. To defeat the Genie you have to do this:

The Genie has two phases. In phase one, the genie will start juggling a bunch of fireballs. This is your cue to get in the lower right hand corner. When he starts to throw them, run to the left across the room. By the time you get to the left side, he'll have thrown three. Move back right now. If you don't hesitate the fireballs won't touch you. Now, he'll retreat back to his bottle. Hit it with your sword to immobilize it. Now, pick it up with the power bracelet. Throw it at the wall. Then, the genie will start over with his fireballs. Repeat this process three times. Then the genie will be hopping mad! Time for phase two. Now the genie will start to produce images of himself that start centering in on the middle of the screen. Equip yourself with the Sword and Roc's Feather. Stand right below the Genie. When the Genie becomes totally solid, jump and swing your sword. You'll jump over the fireball and damage him. Repeat this several times to put an end to the Genie. | [Sent by Ryan]

• Link Aerobics

You need the pegasus boots and a shovel to do this. You can get link to run in place by digging in the ground right before you take off with your pegasus boots.

• Lot's of Rupees

Go to the Color Dungeon.After telling the skulls their colors go two more rooms in. Plant a bomb on the south wall of that room. There are hundreds of rupees for your taking. They re-generate each time you re-visit the dungeon. | [Sent by Matt]

• Money Saving Tip

If you're going to buy an expensive item, get it from the counter and go pay for it. As your money is being taken away press Start + Select + A + B at the same time. Choose SAVE AND QUIT then reload the game. If you were fast enough you'll have the item and most of the money you would have spent.

• Nightmare Key

If you have trouble beating level two then this is for you. In the room with the nightmare key first kill the bunny dude trapped in the blocks, then kill the bat and then kill the guy with the skull face. After you do this, the treasure chest with the nightmare key in it will appear.

• Picture Spots

Go to camera shop. Mouse Guy takes your picture.
When you get Marin, take her to the cliff at Toronbo Shores.
When you get Marin, drop into the well at Mabe Village.
When you get Marin, got to the Rooster statue in Mabe Village.
Outside of Ulrira's house. Move to the window on the right of his hous. Must be Outside.
After returning Bow Wow go to the right of the peg in the ground
Steal an item from the tool store. Get this picture last as you don't want to be branded a thief too early.
Go to the fisherman under the Bridge in Martha's Bay, must get necklace from him first.
After getting the magnifying glass, go to Animal Village and enter far right house.
Go to Kanalet castle before talking to Richard and getting any golden leafs, walk up to the gate.
After returning the ghost to his grave, come back and take a picture.
At Tal Tal hights, you have to find a bridge with a bush creature, kill it, cross the bridge and the Mouse guy will take your picture.

• Piece of Heart at the Fishing Pond

North of Mabe Village there is a fishing game. There is one big fish directly below you. If you catch it the man will give you a peice of heart and 20 rupees.

• Red or Blue shirt

After you beat the Color Dungeon,a fairy will give you either a red shirt or a blue shirt.(The blue shirt will reduce your damage by half. The red shirt will give you the power to make you sword twice as strong. I think that the red is better.)

• Revenge of the Chickens

In Mabe Village (where Marin and Tarin live and where the game begins), find a chicken and beat it with your sword continuously. After you take enough swipes at it, it'll call the cavalry, and you'll be savagely pecked to daeth by vengeful chickens! you can escape them by moving out of the screen and onto the next. This works with doggies, too, but they're more irritable and independant than chickens are.

• Saving Lives

When you lose all your hearts, immediatly save and quit. Then the number of times of death will stay the same and you will start at the last place where you came from with five hearts.

• Secret Dungeon

You must have the running boots for this to work. Go to the library just before the beach in Mabe Village. You'll see a book on the shelf, ram the shelf using the boots and read the book. It will tell you to go to the area in the graveyard with 5 tombstones. Be sure to memorize which order to push the tombstones in and what direction to move them in. It may take a few tries but if it's done properly a hole will appear leading you to the secret dungeon.

• Steal From Store 1

This code sometimes doesn't work but most of the time it does.

1. Go to the item shop.
2. Pick up the item you want to buy.
3. Go to the guy and talk to him until he askes, "Buy it?"
4. Say "Buy" and right after that, save it.

It helps to save when the arrow is on the "Buy" icon. Save the game and exit. When you go back, the item should be in your inventory.  | [Sent by Henry]

• Stealing

To steal from a store, take what you want then stand above the shopkeeper. As as he's looking at the top of the screen, run out the door.

There is one minor setback from stealing. After you steal something from a store, all of the characters in the game will call you THIEF.

If you steal from a shopkeeper you can never return. Doing so is a death sentence! However, you can use this to advantage by choosing Save and Continue when the shopkeeper kills you. You can now re-enter the store and steal from it again.

• Unlimited Money

Play the crane game and grab the two rupees by placing the crane's shadow on the upper left hand of the conveyer belt. Wait until the item you want is about halfway between the upper and lower right hand corners. You can go back and repeat the process. It's a lot better than stealing.

• Winning the Crane Game

This technique is a little more effective way to get things on the crane game. Your timing must be just right, or you'll never get what you want. To do this trick, put the crane on the upper left hand side of the screen with the shadow over the left moving conveyer belt. Wait until what you want is in the lower right hand corner to drop the crane.
