• 99 lives glitch

This glitch will allow you to obtain 99 lives. In order for this to work, you must have zero lives left, and die at the same time you get an extra life. The best way to do this is by killing the mini boss of level 1 because that usually gets you an extra life. Get hit by one of the fireballs it drops down on you the instant you destroy it.

• Alternate colors

Successfully complete the game. Press Up or Down at the character selection screen to choose an alternate color.

• Alternate ending

Successfully complete the game under the Normal or Hard difficulty setting.

• Challenge mode

Successfully complete the game to unlock Challenge mode.

• Hard mode for Classic Contra

Same as the real classic Contra in NES, once you beat the game, you'll start over with hard mode. More enemies, more bullets flying around.

• Lucia

To unlock the character Lucia, complete twenty challenges in Challenge Mode.

• NES Contra: 30 lives

Press Up(2), Down(2), Left, Right, Left, Right, Y, B, Start before the demonstration begins at the title screen.

• New Armor Colors

If you have any unlockable characters and want them to have different armor colors than their default settings, try the following. On the character select screen, double-tab X, up, or down. This will change the character's armor colors. Then you can press A to select the armor color you want. This works only on unlockable characters.

• Nobuya Nakazato Interview

If you want to hear an interview from series producer Nobuya Nakazato, fulfill at least sixteen challenges in Challenge Mode.

• Upgraded weapons

Pause game play, then press Up(2), Down(2), Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start to fully upgrade all your weapons. Note: This code can only be done once per level, as repeating it will cause death. Also, it has no effect under the Easy difficulty setting.
