• Background change

Much like MGS2 :Sons of liberty, you can change the background when you first start the game. Try the following:

Press R3 to change the color of the background.

Press L3 to change the pattern of the background.

Press R1 to speed up the CQC scenes.

Press R2 to slow down the CQC scenes.

Use L1 and L2 to change the color of snake and the enemy.

And press Triangle to reverse the color of snake and the enemy.

• Breaking Out of The Cell

You have 4 choices:

1. Enter 144.75 as a frequency and kill the guard using the fork or punches.
2. Use the fake death pill and when the guard walks in take the revival pill and kill him.
3. When the guard gives you food, throw it out the window 2 or 3 times and he goes to use the bathroom. Take this moment to call 144.75 and kill the guard on the toilet.
4. When the guard gives you food, throw it out the window 2 or 3 times and he goes to the bathroom. Wait for him to come back and you'll have a conversation. The guard then gives you cigar gas-spray thinking they are just cigars. Make him fall asleep and call 144.75 to get out.

• Call off alert

When you are in alert mode, grab a guard and interrogate him. He will give a radio frequency you can call to call off the alert. After the alert is over, the frequency changes.

• Camouflage

Beat Ocelot non-lethally: Animals - Steady aim
Beat The Pain non-lethally: Hornet Stripe - Wards off insects
Beat The Fear non-lethally: Spider - Trades stealth for stamina
Beat the Fury non-lethally: Fire - Less damage from fire
Get to the end of the Sorrow - Choke people for stamina.
Beat Volgin non-lethally: Cold War - Russians will not attack

• Defeating The Shagohod

Defeating the shagohod is probably the most fun part of the whole game. Quickly shoot the treads (Wheels for those of you you who have bad vocab.) Then Volgin will complain about how he can't move or saying "What have you done!" Eva will drive around to the back of the shagohod and shoot the part that is smoking it takes about one-fifthe of the machines life. If you don't inflict damage it propbably means you didn't do it fast enough.

• Defeating Volgin

Defeating Volgin on top of the Shagohod is the same as fighting it the first time. Take out your RPG and aim for the treads. When you hit the treads, you will stun the Shagohod and leave a window open to do damage to Volgin. You cannot hurt him unless you shoot him in the sides of the back. Make sure you are close enough to get behind him and unload with any gun. Do this to make quick work of Volgin.

• Eat The End's parrot

In the cutscene that begins the battle against The End, his parrot flies away. Search the area using the Thermal Goggles and you will eventualy find a bird sitting in a tree or on a stump behind you. This is also a sign that The End is nearby. You can either kill the bird, which will trigger The End cursing your name and swearing revenge, or capture it. Either way the parrot still appears in the cutscene where The End dies. If you captured the bird, contact Para-Medic to have a conversation about the bird. It offers very little stamina but tastes good. If you killed or captured the bird, it also appears as a ghost during the battle against The Sorrow.

• Extra Cut Scenes

When Snake is captured in the prison cell, do not eat the food the guard throws you. Instead, throw the food back out of the cell to the card. Continue to do this 2 more times for a total of 3 times and this will trigger a hidden cut scene.

• Extra dead man during river walk

To add another dead man to the Sorrows river walk you have to lay down a BOOK during the game(before the river walk) and plant a TNT charge. When a man walks up and starts reading the book set off the TNT and kill him. Now when you walk down the river you'll see a man reading the BOOK and saying "I want some more."

• Extra Waterfall Scene with Eva

After you escape from the cell, don't use Cure to take out the transmitter in your back. If the transmitter is in you when you meet up with Eva behind the waterfall, there will be an extra very funny scene where she takes it out of you.

• Frustrate Volgin

In the battle against Volgin in the Shagohod hanger, put on the mask. Volgin will begin to say things like " Ivan?". This will make Volgin slightly more aggressive, and ake it easier to attack his back. However, his attacks will become more fierce.

• Fun with Eva

Once Eva joins you after the motorcycle scene there are a few things you can do. If you picked up a camera earlier, pull it out and stare at her through it and in different areas you will receive different responses. Go prone and crawl at her, she'll get embarrassed then stand up and walk off slightly. In the cure menu, move her around with the left joystick and she’ll bounce.

• Hidden intermission sequence

In Groznyj Grad after the torture scene, you will wake up in the prison. Get the fork and remove the bullet, but do not remove the transmitter. Then, continue the game. Later when you meet Eva behind the water fall, there will be a funny extra intermission sequence that takes place after Snake pushes her away from the kiss. The extra scene will only play if you still have the transmitter in you at this point.

• Hidden items and secrets

IN MGS3 there are many ways to get hidden uniforms, masks, and ways to get a good laugh. here they are.

1) Earn top rank in all Snake VS.monkey Missions for the bannana camo and the monkey mask.

2) Only use the MK22 Tranq gun on bosses to get new secret camo aftrwards.
All boss reward uniforms have special abilities such as tameing hornets or removeing "hand shaking" when holing a gun.

3) find all the kerotan Frog dolls in every section of the game to unlock a specal uniform.
(You must Shoot the toy and Wait for it to stop giggleing 3 times for it to break.You'll know its Breakig If the Giggle gets slower.)

4) While wathing the theme song music video move arond the Right anolog stick or pressing R3 to make symbols appear, change color and do other things. press R1 for A wisper of "SNAKE EATERrrrr"

5) Answer the opening question of what MGS game you like with MGS2 so snake is wearing the riaden mask when the game starts.

6) make snake vomit by going to the survival veiwer pressing R1 and spinning snake around for about 30 seconds.

7) Look up with R1 while in the Drone plane to see a girly picture.

8) Whene you first meet Eva press R1 when the button is displayd in the up-right corner to see the the perv side of snake.

9) after eating the Glow Cap Mushroom that charges your batteries, call Para-Meic and listen to the conversation.

10) Intarrogate enemys for eight different radio stations on your codac. heres one. 144.86

11) You can also intarrogate a Gard somewhere in the game for a password for the soon to come MGS game, Metal Gear Acid for the PSP Hand held consol.

12) If you find any magazines lying around, shoot the you may see MGS clip art.

13) On the second floor of the G G research lab the is Silent hill 3 art.

14) Granins Room in the G G research lab has a bunch of MGS references.

14) After the scene where snake meets Granin, stay in the room just out side the drunkin scientists office to here some intresing sounds. eventually he snores. Try opening the door for more odd noises.

15) theres a poster of MGSs in the locker that you put Major Raikov into.

16) A chance to save your game happens just after Snake is captured by Gronzyj Grad. Save this game in a DIFFERENT FILE then the previous Save file.
Turn off your ps2 and turn it back on. when you load your game, use the sepperate file that you just saved after you got caught. when you start the game you'll be playing a demo with a man armed with 2 swords. It's really awsome.

17) After Escorting Eva out of the first woodland area, check the cure funtion on your survival veiwer. Eva will apper onlly in her bathing suit.

18) While leading Eva toward the lake Open the cure menu again and press the R1 button to se the X-ray mode. Eva will look around for her clothes.

19) Give Eva some instant noodles through ZaozyorJe areas and she'll say "noodles" every time shes hungry.

20) To freak out your enemys Put on the zombie face pant and wear the black camo. throw a few smoke granades and sneak up behind them. You will somtimes hear- "he ... he's hear! i know it!" It helps to trip a noise making trap or shooting him in the arm or leg and taking out his codec first.

• Monkey Mask

Get the five best times in Snake Vs. Ape to unlock the monkey mask.

• Moss Camouflage

When fighting The End, if you sneak up behind him when he is asleep and hold him up, he shakes down and will eventually give you the camouflage moss.

• Movie

After you're through with the torture and you're in your cell, leave the transmitter in that's lodged in you rather than extract it with the knife. When you get to the cave with Eva, you'll see a funny cut scene.

• Nightmare Mini-Game

After Snake's torture, you can save the game. If you load this save in another game, a sword fighting mini-game will begin.

• Ocelot Time Paradox

After the cut scene where you first meet Ocelot, knife him to death. Once you kill him the game over screen will pop-up and say "OCELOT IS DEAD." Cambell will then yell at Snake for creating a time paradox.

• Ocelot's Backstory

To learn more about Ocelot's youth, and his relationship to other person(s) in the game, call EVA repeatedly while standing in the section of the cave with two waterfalls.

• Opening the door in weapon lab and getting Skorpion

To open the door that requires a radio frequency, you must capture a guard. Hold the knife to him to get the information by pressing L3 (145.86). Call that while standing in front of door to open it. You should hear a click. Once inside the door, the very powerful Skorpion (includes laser sighting) can be found in the far northeast of the room, along with ammunition. Note: The room can only be entered through the door located to the east. The one to the west does not open until after the east door is opened.

• Poisoning Enemies

Destroy a food storehouse and wait for the guards to start complaining about their hunger. Kill a poison animal (Such as a Poison Dart Frog) and equip it as a weapon. Throw it near a guard and he will eat it. In a few seconds he will collapse from the poison and die.

• Purge poison

When Snake is stricken with food poisoning, use the "Sick Snake" trick to make him vomit. It will cure the food poisoning. Note: The "Sick Snake" can be done when standing and crouching.

• Raiden Poster

When you steal Raikov's outfit in Groznyg Grad you hide Raikov's body in a locker room on the 2nd floor. Once you take his body in the room, a cut scene will start showing snake putting Raikov's body in a locker. If you look closely, you can quickly see a poster of Raiden from MGS2 on the inside of the door of the locker. This is the locker that contains the sneaking suit later.

• Revolver Ricochet

As demonstrated by Major Ocelot early in the game, the bullets on the Colt Single Action Army revolver are capable of ricocheting. Simply equip the SAA and fire at a non-volatile structure such as a rock formation, metal crate or wall and watch the bullet deflect off the surface. If mastered properly, this can be used to shoot enemies hiding behind structures or even around corners.

• Skip level

This cheat is really cool, just press up, down, R2, L2, up, down then select in the cure menu. but be carefull you will only go to the next level with some of life gone, so if you have little life i wouldnt recommend this cheat.

• Skip The End

In the cut scene when you see The End in a wheelchair, quickly get your gun out (use the sniper rifle if you have it) and shoot his head before he gets back inside the building.

• Sleep talking

In the scene where you have to reach the Wig with Eva injured, shoot her with a tranquilizer dart. She will pass out and begin to talk in her sleep. To wake her up again, go into the survival viewer and cure her with the knife. Alternately, you can kick her awake.

• Snake camo

To get the Snake camo you have to defeat the Boss by depleting her stamina. An easier way to do this is by using the Snow facepaint and camo and ducking, she will star looking for you and that will be your chance to use the Mk22 or the End's sniper. If she finds you and shoots, run and roll then stay down, she will run away and lose you. If she gets you in CQC, press Circle repeatidly to prevent being damaged, instead of using CQC against her try punching her, when she falls shoot a tranquilizer to her. Once her stamina is depleted, she'll stay down and the camo will come out of her, look nearby for the camo the box if bigger than others.

• Snake Pukes

Spin snake in circles in the cure menu to make Snake throw up.

• Special snake

When you are fighting The Boss at the field of daffodils, throw a grenade anywhere when you get the chance. If you hear the sound of an animal turning into a ration, put your thermal goggles on and look for the ration with a special snake inside. Press Start and look at your food. If you picked it up, you will have a snake named after one of the sons of Big Boss. You can eat it, and he loves it. If you do not find a ration or hear a sound, throw another grenade. Eventually you will get one. They are mostly near the rocks.

• Spot The End

During the battle with The End go to the Survival Viewer Map. From there put in up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, square, triangle. A dot saying 'enemy' should pop up on the screen. if not got to another area and try it there.

• Taming The Bees

After getting the hornet stripe camo (defeating The Pain via stamina kill) you have the ability to "tame" bees while wearing the hornet stripe uniform. Heres how you do it (while wearing hornet stripe camo): Shoot down a beehive while underneath it (or close enough to it so the bees fall NEAR you). The bees will then be swarming around you! Now go attack some enemys (or go near them) so they can feel the pain.

• The 5th way to get out of the cell

When you get into the cell after being tortured, use the SNAKE PUKES hint. (You have to do it when the guard is in front of you.) The guard will open the door, then you can punch him or hit him with the fork. thats pretty much all you have to do.

• The Best Tasting Food

While you are fighting the Boss, equip your thermal goggles and look for snake solid, snake liquid, and snake solidus. They are each by one of the three logs that are scattered around the area.

• The End's Mercy

While fighting The End, climb a tree onto a ledge that is easily accessible to the old man. Lay down and take out your sniper rifle, go into first person, and search the trees, not necessarily looking for The End. You will eventually hear his footsteps behind you, but do not turn around. You will get a short cut scene where The End finds you and shoots you one with his rifle. Instead of killing you he says that you don't deserve to die that easily. He then proceeds to pick Snake up and carry him to the nearby jail where he will eventually awaken.

• The Sorrows bones

After you see the movie clip were you fight Ocelot of GRU for the first time, you will folo Sokolov to the bridge. You will see a short clip, then The Boss will throw you off the edge of the bridge. when you get done healing yourself it will give you the opportunity to look around. Look all the way to the left to see the bones of The Sorrow. This is one of the cobra's. This will be your only chance to see them.

• Title Screen Fun

On the title screen the L3 button changes the pattern in the background. R1 speeds up action and R2 slows it down. L1 switches the black silhouette from the foreground to the background and L2 changes the color of the silhouette. L3 changes the color of the pattern in the background.

• Tranquilizer Sniper

To get the Tranquilizer Sniper, you must defeat The End by depleting his stamina, one easier way to do this is to follow his footsteps with the Thermal Goggles, he must likely won't espect you to be behind him but he will hear you if you just go running. If he spots you from far, don't try shooting from there, instead try gessing where he'll go next. Once you defeat him, his sniper will be at the center of the north part of the forest (Sokroveno North).

• Unlock EZ Gun

You must capture all types of animals and plants in the game, you dont have to eat them and they can be rotten, and once you have captured one you can discard it from your backpack because it has been recorded as it having been caputred, there are 47 in total to be captured.

Patriot with infinite ammo
Single Action Army

• X-Ray Poses

While in the the Cure Screen hit R1 twice this will activate different animations from body building techniques to stances.

• Yankee Doodle

When you first start the game, you will be on the Virtuous Mission, where you have to rescue Sokolov. Go through the level like you normally would. After you cross the bridge and get to the factory where Sokolov is, if you have the sniper, snipe the enemy closest to the wall where you are at. Then, crawl over to the grass inside of the walls. If you look around the corner of the fence you should see a guard, if you don't, then just wait for him. When you see him, snipe him as well. When you snipe him the alert timer will appear. Then turn to your left and look at the stairs leading up to the second floor where there is just a little platform. There should be a guard kneeling down up there looking around. Snipe him. Now listen carefully and you should hear the "Yankee Doodle" tune being whistled by Sokolov or someone else.

• Zooming/Camera-panning During Cinemas

At any time during a cut scene you can zoom in on the action by pressing the Triangle button. The harder you push it, the closer it zooms in. Also, while zoomed in you can pan the camera around using the left analog stick.
