Blinding opponents
Drive in front of an opponent while going through the mud. Your opponent will be blinded and may crash or go off course.

Burnouts
At any point on a track, hold L2 + R2 and press Circle. Release Circle and you should be doing a burnout. This does not work with some vehicles. The best vehicle is the Rally Car. The best terrain is in the mud. Note: This was done with the controller 1 setup.

Cheat Codes
To enter the code, simply hold down all the buttons as shown. As well as pushing the analog sticks down, you will also need to move them in the direction shown in ().
Enter the Big Head code whilst paused, and the Everything code on the main menu. You will here a noise if done correctly

Code - Effect

Pause the game, then hold L1+L2+R1+R2+R3(whilst pushed right)+L3(whilst pushed left) - Big Head (ATVs and Bikes)

At main menu hold L1+L2+R1+R2+R3(whilst pushed up)+L3(whilst pushed down) - Unlock Everything

Extra boost
Use the following trick for an extra boost that can help you win at the end of a race. When the finish line is fairly close, make sure your boost meter is almost full, then use the boost. Do not stop holding on the boost and your car will began to heat up. After the meter is all the way to the end, your car will explode, launching you a good distance forward at an extremely high speed.

Flips
When on any track with big or long jumps, hold the D-pad in any direction and your vehicle should do a flip in that direction.

Going faster
To make any vehicle go faster (you must let your boost charge), keep tapping X while driving. This will make any vehicle go faster and not use boost.

Recommend vehicles
The dirtbike and quad are the two most controllable vehicles due to their ability to ride along the walls with ease.

Remove dirt and mud
When there is dirt or mud on the screen, quickly press View (Triangle) twice to remove it.

Runcorn reference
Before a race when you see the front of your car or bike, notice the banner that reads "Free The Runcorn". Runcorn is the town in the U.K. where the game was created.

Unlimited Boost - No Overheat
When in a race, keep tapping the Boost (X) button. You will boost without overheating.

Viewing screens
In some races there are big screens on the sides of the track that show your vehicle racing. However, if you pause the game in front of one of these screens and rotate the camera, the screen displays this even though the game is paused.
