Successfully complete Story mode to unlock that character's alternate costume.

• Characters

Complete the indicated task to unlock the corresponding character.

Chosokabe Motochika: Complete Sengoku Drama Emaki as Saika Magoichi.
Fuma Kotaro: Complete Sengoku Drama Emaki as Sanada Yukimura.
Honda Tadakatsu: Complete Sengoku Drama Emaki as Shimazu Otani.
Maeda Keiji: Complete Sengoku Drama Emaki as Date Masamune.
Mori Motonari: Complete Sengoku Drama Emaki as Tsuruhime and Chosokabe.
Oda Nobunaga: Complete Oichi's Story mode once, then start again. Take the Green route and follow Tenkai when you reach Kobayakawa's stage. Kill Tenkai and complete the route. Return to any cleared character and look for a short grey alternate route near the end of one of their normal routes. Use that route and follow the grey path. Complete the Honnoji stage to unlock Nobunaga.
Oichi: Complete Sengoku Drama Emaki as Fuma and Maeda.
Otani Yoshitsugu: Complete Sengoku Drama Emaki as Ishida Mitsunari.
Shimazu Yoshihiro: Complete Sengoku Drama Emaki as Kuroda Kanbe.
Tsuruhime: Complete Sengoku Drama Emaki as Tokugawa Ieyasu.

• Extreme difficulty

Successfully complete the game under the Hard difficulty setting.

• Hottari Hanzo as support character

Complete Story mode as Sanada Yukimura, and unlock Fuma Kotaro. Play through and complete Fuma Kotaro's story. Finally, complete Fuma Kotaro's Story for a second time however this time follow a specific order in your battles:

Battle 1: Noshima (Tsuruhime)
Battle 2: Nakatomigawa (Motochika)
Battle 3: Osaka (Mitsunari)
Final Battle: Mikatagahara (Ieyasu)

Afterward Hottari Hanzo will be unlocked as a support Character (Ally). His ability is a 2x chance to find fugitives. When Hattari is at maximum level the fugitive will be marked on the map.

Combo Master (Bronze)	Perform a 2,000 hit combo for the first time.
Comeback Kid (Bronze)	Finish a battle with an Ultimate BASARA Art while your health is low (5,000 health points or less).
Eastern Savior (Bronze)	Complete Heroes' Story with Ieyasu Tokugawa.
Frenzied Fighter (Bronze)	Complete Heroes' Story while performing a combo of 500 hits or higher.
Frenzy n00b (Bronze)	Perform a 500 hit combo for the first time.
Humble Samurai (Bronze)	Complete Heroes' Story on Easy difficulty.
Inadequate Tactician (Bronze)	Complete Heroes' Story with Kanbe Kuroda
Proud Daimyo (Bronze)	Complete Heroes' Story on Normal difficulty.
Seeker of Vengeance (Bronze)	Complete Heroes' Story with Mitsunari Ishida.
Smooth Operator (Bronze)	Complete Heroes' Story while taking no damage in at least one battle.
Steel Liver Samurai (Bronze)	Finish a battle after drinking 15 drinks.
Vagabond (Bronze)	Complete Heroes' Story with Keiji Maeda.
