This is easily the most difficult Boss battle in the game. Collect all spell runes (especially the Petrify and Power Drain spells), weapons, armor, Minion upgrades, Overlord runes (glowing runes that are red for health, blue for mana, and yellow for Minion capacity), etc. and reenter the foundry lair (if backtracking was needed to collect the items mentioned). Use the following steps to access this Boss. First, summon four or more Blue Minions and order them to operate the gears and lower the bridge across to the next area in the arena. Next, dodge all attacks sent by Widget and summon four or more Red Minions. Order them operate the gears and lower the bridge across to the next area in the arena. Use Brown Minions to destroy the bridge leading to the first area in the arena. Next use the small ramp down to the floor. Use the Petrify spell, after he gets done charging, use the Power Drain spell to lower his health. It is recommended that the Boss not be fought hand to hand or the fight will be easily lost. Repeat those and the Boss will eventually die.
